19 MEN CONVICTED OF LOITERING, SOLICITING, ENGAGING, AND/OR AGREEING TO ENGAGE IN PROSTITUTION

SANTA ANA – The Orange County District Attorney’s Office (OCDA) convicted 19 men of loitering, soliciting, engaging, and/or agreeing to engage in prostitution. The men were convicted in March 2014. The defendants in these cases approached a woman, whom they believed to be a prostitute, in areas known for prostitution and human trafficking in Orange County. They agreed to engage in commercial sex, engaged in prostitution, loitered with intent to commit prostitution, and/or solicited another to engage in prostitution with a woman or an undercover officer and were subsequently arrested by law enforcement.

The Buena Park Police Department, Garden Grove Police Department, Orange County Sheriff’s Department, and Santa Ana Police Department investigated these cases. Deputy District Attorney Michael Bardeen of the HEAT Unit prosecuted these cases. Continue reading→

SANTA ANA, CA (March 26, 2014) – Due to unforeseen water line construction in the area, the intersection of Broadway & Santa Clara will remain closed through the evening until 10 pm. Adjacent neighborhood associations have been notified of the extended closure, and advanced detour signage indicating the closure will continue to be posted. Santa Ana Grads Give Back to SAUSD Community by Riding Across America

HEALTHNUTS AND HANDLEBARS TEAM COMPETES IN TOUR DE CALIFORNIA RACE TRAINING FOR CROSS-COUNTRY TREK

Anthony Bui, his sister Aileen, and girlfriend Hannah Pham, otherwise known as Healthnuts and Handlebars, have been on a serious training regimen to prepare themselves for their upcoming three-month bicycle trek on the TransAmerica Trail from Oregon to Virginia.

Both Bui siblings are graduates of Saddleback High School, while Pham is a graduate of Fountain Valley High School. All three are college graduates who wanted to make the trip before attending professional post-graduate schools in healthcare fields. Advisory: Serial Murder Arrest

On March 14, 2014 at 10:38 AM, Anaheim Police Officers were called to the recycling center in the 1100 block of N. Blue Gum Street to investigate the discovery of a deceased female, who was located by employees. Anaheim Homicide Detectives responded to continue investigation when evidence at the scene indicated the female, later identified as Jarrae Nykkole Estepp, 21, Resident of Oklahoma, had likely been murdered.

During the initial phase of our murder investigation, Homicide Detectives from the Santa Ana Police Department contacted us with information about three women, reported missing from their city. Based on information from our murder investigation and information from their missing person cases, a joint investigation was initiated. The missing women from Santa Ana have been identified as follows: Kianna Jackson, 20, Resident of Las Vegas. She was last seen in Santa Ana on October 6, 2013. Josephine Vargas, 34, Resident of Santa Ana. She was last seen in Santa Ana on October 24, 2013. Martha Anaya, 28, Resident of Santa Ana. She was last seen in Santa Ana on November 12, 2013. Mercury Poisoning Linked to Use of Face Cream

The Orange County Health Care Agency warns against the use of face creams that appear to be homemade or imported from Mexico due to potentially high levels of mercury. One case of mercury poisoning associated with use of these products has recently been identified in Orange County, and several others are under investigation.

The face cream claims to lighten skin, fade freckles and age spots, and treat wrinkles and acne. Air samples taken from the cream had more than 50,000 times the safe limit. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration does not allow mercury in drugs or cosmetics, expect under very specific conditions which these products do not meet. Continue reading→

Why is the SAUSD School Board MIA about the school cop that roughed up a kid?

The Santa Ana Unified School District Police Department has launched an investigation into video footage apparently showing a school police officer restraining a sobbing 14-year-old boy with a headlock, according to the OC Register.

We broke this story – and it has since been reported in New York, in Philadelphia, and in Riverside. But where has it not been reported? That’s right – there is NO MENTION of this on the SAUSD’s website nor on their Facebook page.

SAUSD School Board Member Rob Richardson has not mentioned any of this on his Facebook Page. SAUSD School Board Member Cecilia Iglesias has not mentioned it on her Facebook Page either. What about the other SAUSD School Board Members? I don’t think John Palacio and Audrey Noji have Facebook Pages. Jose Alfredo Hernandez does but it is just used to hype his law firm. Here we go again. The City of Santa Ana has announced, as usual, a crackdown on Easter Crusing:

Each Easter holiday, the City of Santa Ana experiences a high volume of unsanctioned cruising activity on Bristol St. This unsanctioned activity produces public safety concerns, numerous calls for service and grid-lock.

As with past years, the Santa Ana Police Department is taking pro-active measures to deter cruising activity throughout the city on Easter evening. Unfortunately, several city neighborhoods will be affected by the various street closures that will be established as a part of the anti-cruising effort. Continue reading→
