A man was wounded in a possibly gang-related shooting in Santa Ana on Friday night
A man was hospitalized and in critical condition on Saturday morning, Jan.13 following a shooting Friday night that police say could be gang related, according to the O.C. Register.
The incident happened at the 1200 block of South Pacific Ave. Police showed up there at about 10:20 p.m. and found a male victim with wounds in his upper body, according to the SAPD. Continue reading

On Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 10:29 PM, reports of a shooting with a subject down at 1605 West Wisteria Place came in to the Santa Ana Police Department.
Officers arrived and discovered an adult male suffering an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body. Orange County Fire Authority paramedics arrived on scene and declared the victim deceased at 10:40 PM. Continue reading

Advisory: Officers Working Vehicle Into Building Collision 300 Block East 17th Street
SAPD police officers responded to a collision involving a single vehicle into a commercial business early this morning, at the 300 block of East 17th St.. Upon arrival the police officers observed an occupied white sedan that was partially wedged into the second floor of a dental office.
They determined the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, northbound on French approaching 17th. The driver continued northbound and struck the raised center median on 17th, which launched the vehicle into the air. The vehicle struck the 2nd floor of the building and remained lodged. On 1/12/2018, at approximately 7:20 a.m., police officers responded to the 2100 block of South Orange regarding a shooting that had just occurred. The victim was transported to a local trauma center where he currently is in stable condition.
Investigation revealed that suspect Jose Luis Trujillo and the victim, who are neighbors, were involved in a verbal altercation. The suspect retrieved an unknown type rifle from his residence and shot the victim. Continue reading
The bicyclist who died today by the South Coast Global Medical Center was not struck by a vehicle after all
The SAPD’s police investigators determined today that the unidentified bicyclist who died in front of South Coast Global Medical Center was not struck by a vehicle.
The police investigators looked at surveillance video while investigating the incident. The video showed that the victim fell from his bike onto the street. The vehicles that were at the scene were stopped there because their drivers stopped to try to help the bicyclist. Continue reading

An unknown male on a bicycle was shot and badly wounded last night, Jan. 11, at the 2000 block of South Towner St., in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.

On Thursday, January 11th at approximately 11:29 p.m., SAPD officers responded to the area of the 1100 block of W 17th Street regarding a hit and run vehicle collision involving a pedestrian, with the pedestrian reported to still be in the roadway.
