An O.C. man was charged with hate crimes and assault after attacking several Latinos and police officers

Felony hate crime and other charges were filed Tuesday against Bryce Cameron Agius, 27, a man accused of directing racially derogatory comments at four Latino men, throwing a knife at a Costa Mesa police officer and head-butting another officer when taken to jail, according to the O.C. Register.

Agius, who is white, is charged with four counts of committing a hate crime and one count each of assault with a weapon on a peace officer and resisting arrest, according to Deputy District Attorney Jake Jondle, according to CBS News. Continue reading→

On 10/27/18 at approximately 7 pm a suspect was caught on surveillance video in a residential backyard. The suspect was naked, peeping into the residential windows, and masturbating. The OCDA is looking for more victims of a faith healing scam that targeted Hispanics

OCDA SEEKS POTENTIAL ADDITIONAL VICTIMS OF “FAITH HEALING” FRAUD RING TARGETING HISPANIC COMMUNITIES

SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Orange County District Attorney’s (OCDA) Office Bureau of Investigation is investigating an organization that is committing theft by utilizing “Faith Healing” to fraudulently con victims out of their savings. The organization, primarily based out of Los Angeles, is known as Terapias Alternativas Aaron, Inc. and Terapias Alternativas Angel, Inc. This “Faith Healing” organization is specifically targeting the Hispanic communities in multiple counties via ads and infomercials aired on Hispanic television stations and newspapers. At least two victims from Orange County have made reports of this fraud.

“This is unconscionable fraud that targets the desperate and the sick. The victims should report this without feeling embarrassed,” stated District Attorney Tony Rackauckas. Continue reading→

A nude man was caught on video peering into a home in Santa Ana for about an hour

A Santa Ana homeowner is alerting other residents after her home surveillance cameras captured a naked man prowling in her backyard for about an hour, peering into windows as three other women were inside looking after the house, according to KTLA News.

The homeowner, who wishes to remain anonymous, was not home at the time – but her house guests called her during the incident.  Continue reading→

The Garden Grove police is looking for a suspect who stabbed an elderly man at a McDonald’s

On October 27, 2018 at 10:40 AM, an 89-year old elderly male was attacked and stabbed in the restroom of the McDonald’s located at 13971 Harbor Blvd., in Garden Grove.

The attack was unprovoked and the motive is unknown. The victim was washing his hands when the suspect started punching and stabbing him numerous times. The suspect then fled on foot and ran westbound on Westminster Ave. Continue reading→

Santa Ana, CA (October 29, 2018) – In regards to today’s status conference for Orange County Catholic Worker et al v. Orange County, The City of Anaheim, The City of Costa Mesa, and The City of Orange:

“I will not support a settlement without all cities named in the lawsuit,” said Supervisor Andrew Do, Chairman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. “I am profoundly disappointed. The plaintiffs have punished the only cities working to solve the problem. North and Central Orange County are building homeless shelter space, while South County is rewarded for fear-mongering and obstruction. My message to the plaintiffs is simple: Stop posturing. Stop playing politics. Bring every Orange County city as parties to this lawsuit. A Santa Ana man is facing 27 years to life in prison after molesting ten boys

Edwin Damean Echeverria, 26, of Santa Ana, admitted molesting 10 boys in Santa Ana is facing 27 years to life in prison, a prosecutor according to NBC News.

Echeverria pleaded guilty to 24 felony counts involving sexual assaults on the victims. Continue reading→

Santa Ana man convicted of killing a man he suspected of stealing his bike

Jacob Michael Margo, 24, a Santa Ana resident, was convicted Monday of killing a 19-year-old man, Octavio Jesus Alcala, at an Irvine construction site because he suspected the victim stole his bike, according to the O.C. Register.

Margo is facing up to 50 years to life in prison after getting convicted of first-degree murder with a sentencing enhancement for the use of a gun in the killing. He is set to be sentenced on Feb. 1. Continue reading→

The OC Health Care Agency has released a list of the eateries (including restaurants, caterers and even school kitchens) that they inspected and shut down for the week of Oct. 19 to 26, 2018. Most of these eateries reopen pretty quickly after the health inspectors determine their issues have been resolved. Here is the list:

  • Taqueria de Anda, 2610 W. Edinger Ave., Santa Ana, Closed: Oct. 23, Reason: Plumbing in disrepair, Reopened: Oct. 23
  • Majesty Restaurant, 5015 W. Edinger Ave., Suite V, Santa Ana, Closed: Oct. 24, Reason: Rodent infestation, Reopened: Oct. 25

A fire at a Santa Ana commercial building resulted in $50K in damage

As we reported yesterday on our Facebook page, there was a fire at a commercial building on Alton that caused approximately $50k in damage, according to the OCFA.

Driver 1: 19 year old male, Santa Ana – released at scene pending investigation

On Thursday, October 25th, 2018 at approximately 7:36 pm the Santa Ana Police Department received numerous calls of a pedestrian versus vehicle traffic collision in the 1800 block of S. Cedar Street. Our officers responded to the area and found the pedestrian to still be down in the roadway. Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) personnel responded and began to treat the pedestrian before he was transported by ambulance to the OC Global Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries. Supervisor Do at the new Jerome Park Bike Trail

Orange County Supervisor Andrew Do unveiled the new LED/solar powered lights along the Santa Ana Gardens Bikeway, next to Jerome Park, on Tuesday evening, Oct. 23.

This project made the area traversable by foot or by bicycle. This area used to be unpaved and was locked to the public. Now one can see entire families biking along the trail. Continue reading→
