(October 18, 2018) – More than 1,000 Santa Ana Unified School District parents are expected to attend the 25th Annual Parent Conference, which will focus on Saturday, October 20, 2018, beginning at 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Villa Fundamental Intermediate School, located at 1441 E. NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – After a court hearing in the People v. Grant Robicheaux and Cerissa Riley case, Todd Spitzer, an attorney, and his Chief of Staff Melanie Eustice, knowingly disseminated a sealed search warrant at a press conference. The search warrant contained extremely sensitive information about the rape victims and the defendants. On Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at 4:50 AM, Santa Ana Police Department received information from the California Highway Patrol, Visalia Station, that they had made contact with a male in a disabled vehicle on the side of the freeway in Tulare County. During their investigation the male, identified as Milton Louis Mayfield made spontaneous statements indicating he may have killed a woman in a motel room in the area of First Street and Grand Ave in the City of Santa Ana. Nemesio Ruben Oseguera-Cervantes is the alleged founder and current leader of the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG), a major drug trafficking organization (DTO) based in Jalisco, Mexico. CJNG and Oseguera-Cervantes rose to power around 2009 as the leader of the Valencia/Milenio Cartel began to lose power. Oseguera-Cervantes took advantage of this lull in leadership, and joined the Los Cuinis DTO to fight off competition for the control of the Jalisco, Nayarit, and Colima drug distribution networks. Former Santa Ana City Councilman Roman Reyna is trying to get back onto the City Council this year. He has moved from Ward 5, which he previously represented, to Ward 4.

As one might expect his detractors don’t want to see him get back onto the City Council. To that end a blistering mailer arrived in our mailboxes yesterday. Methamphetamine Trafficking Ring Allegedly Shipped Drugs to Hawaii Disguised as Aztec Calendars and Statues

SANTA ANA, California – Federal authorities this morning arrested eight defendants named in a grand jury indictment that alleges a scheme to send methamphetamine to Hawaii, including nearly 12 kilograms of narcotics made to look like decorative Aztec calendars and statues.

Today’s arrests follow the filing of a seven-count indictment on October 10. A ninth defendant charged in the indictment was already in federal custody on an unrelated case. Continue reading→

Do you still need to get your flu shot this year? Chairman Andrew Do is hosting three FREE flu shot clinics to help the community prepare for flu season. These clinics are open to the public and provide shots at no cost. OC Health Care Agency nurses administer all vaccines on a first come, first serve basis.

The flu or influenza is a serious illness. It is more than just a runny nose and sore throat. The flu can make you very sick and cause you to go to the hospital or even lead to death. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone 6 months and older get the flu vaccine (flu shot). You can protect yourself and those around you by getting a flu shot. A Santa Ana man pleaded guilty to kidnapping a little boy from Jerome Park, to molest him

Armando Torreblanca Núñez

Armando Torreblanca Nunez, a 30-year-old Santa Ana man, ended up pleading guilty today to a felony count of kidnapping for purposes of child molesting just as jury selection was underway, according to NBC News.

The then 4-year old boy in question and his family were at a birthday party at Jerome Park when the family noticed that the boy was missing, at about 8:15 p.m. on July 27, 2016, according to the SAPD. Continue reading→

The SAPD found an apparent homicide victim at a local motel

A person was found dead in at the Sunshine Village motel in Santa Ana Tuesday, and SAPD police detectives are investigating it as an apparent homicide, according to ABC News.

SAPD police officers responded to the motel, which is located at 1427 E. First St., to do a welfare check, after 5 a.m., according to the O.C. Register. Continue reading→

One of our readers caught two suspects cutting down Tyler Diep and “O” No! signs on N. Euclid and W. 4th St. They were trying to cut down OC Sheriff candidate Duke Nguyen’s sign down too but they got spooked. A police report has been filed with the SAPD.

One of our readers reported that her 2-year old toddler found a Xanax pill while playing in the sand at El Salvador Park in Santa Ana. As it turns out it is possible that pill contained Fentanyl, which could be fatal to a toddler.

For years now Santa Ana’s parks have steadily gone downhill. Their bathrooms are disgusting. They often have burned out lights. And they are rampant with vagrants and worse. Continue reading→
