The Santa Ana Communication Linkage Forum (Com Link) will be tackling a sticky issue – “Legalization of Medical Marijuana – Pros and Cons” at their next meeting, on Thursday, August 25, at 6:30 pm, at the Santa Ana Police Department’s Community Room, located at 60 Civic Center Plaza.
It sounds like the Com Link folks don’t know about Prop. 215.
Proposition 215, the California Compassionate Use Act, was enacted by the voters and took effect on Nov. 6, 1996 as California Health & Safety Code 11362.5. The law makes it legal for patients and their designated primary caregivers to possess and cultivate marijuana for their personal medical use given the recommendation or approval of a California-licensed physician. (CA NORML)
While tbe City of Santa Ana has officially banned medical marijuana dispensaries, the City of Garden Grove became “the second city in Orange County to pass regulations allowing medical marijuana dispensaries to legally operate as opposed to moratoriums, bans or fighting collectives in court,” this month, according to the Garden Grove Journal.
Here is the Com Link Meeting Agenda:
- 6:30 to 7 pm: Socialize and network with other involved Santa Ana residents
- 7 pm: Spotlight: Debrief on July 4th by SAPD Commander Ken Gominsky
- 7:15 pm: Committee updates
- 7:30 pm: Speaker Presentation
- 8 pm: Neighborhood Roll Call
BTW, from what I understand the City of Santa Ana spends well over six figures each year, on Com Link and the Neighborhood Associations. Keep that in mind as our City Council struggles with our budget deficit.
are they going to have weed brownies?
That would be quite a sight Cook!
santa ana is the capital for marijuana just check

Why do these nosey neighbors want to make the sick and the elderly suffer in pain?
LET GRANNY SMOKE!!!
If you drive your car to a street corner and buy some dope and get caught by the police, your car is subject to forfeiture.
Since the landlords / building owners know they are renting space to drug pushers, is their building subject to forfeiture?
STATES RIGHTS! The voters of California supported medical marijuana. Where are all the states right Republicans now?
LET GRANNY SMOKE!!!
Santa Ana will try and stop it. They want only Marijuana sold that is brought to the sellers by “immigrants”, not the good stuff grown here.
Hey MikeM,
You do realize that it is all you gabachos buying dope from immigrants that is helping fund our lavish lifestyles, right?
Thanks for funding the drug war in Mexico. We couldn’t do it without ya.
Somebody bring Tardiff some depends!
Weed grows freely, why even buy when you can grow your own?
How much income tax do they (pot businesses) pay?
Part of Santa Ana’s business tax is an assessment on retail sales.
Are these places required to be organized as non-profits? If so, then anyone can walk in and ask the see their public records and of course all of their records are public including members / customers.
Are these sellers health workers? If so, are they required to display their health card results for Hep A,B,C HIV/aids, and other sickness’s ?
Who is responsible for checking the product for parasites and germs, or paraquat ? FDA, DEA
I told you before, Pulido and Walter make alot of $$$ extorting these dispensaries! I know. I have operated several dispensaries in the city.
