“QUILTSCAPES” BY ARTIST BARBARA BREWER FEATURED IN COMMUNITY FOCUS SPACE PROGRAM AT JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT
SANTA ANA, Calif. – A selection of “quiltscapes” (landscape inspired quilts), by Orange County artist Barbara Brewer will be on display now through May 7, 2012 in the Thomas F. Riley Terminal as part of John Wayne Airport’s Community Focus Space Program. Brewer’s art work can be seen on the departure (upper) level near the security screening areas and on the arrival (lower) level near baggage carousels 1 and 4.
Brewer, who works in the Healthcare profession, says that “quilting has become my way of unwinding on the weekends. As the creative juices flow, I am soothed by designing scenes and combining colors. Then my mind and body can relax, rejuvenate and regain the calmness needed for the next week of helping others.”
The JWA exhibition will feature seven of Brewer’s quilts, an example of which can be seen below.

Originally from Minnesota, Brewer settled in Orange County, and currently lives in Yorba Linda. Her work can be seen on display at the biannual Yorba Linda quilt show, as well as the “Yorba Linda Celebration of the Arts,” held in June.
