CALIFORNIA SMALL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION ENDORSES JOSE SOLORIO FOR STATE SENATE
The Association recognizes Solorio’s commitment to jobs and prosperity for California
Santa Ana, CA – The California Small Business Association has endorsed Jose Solorio as the Candidate for Small Business in the 34th Senate District. The endorsement comes less than one month away from the June Primary Election.
“We are proud to support Jose Solorio because of his strong record of fighting for small businesses, protecting jobs and having an open door for us,” said Betty Jo Toccoli, President of the California Small Business Association.
Reflecting on his work in the State Assembly, she cited Solorio’s leadership in passing SB 863 (De León/Solorio), which averted a Workers’ Compensation system crisis and pending double digit rate hikes for employers. The new reforms, signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown, eliminated areas in the system that created unnecessary costs and helped injured workers receive their benefits and medical care quicker.
Solorio also co-authored with Assembly Speaker John Perez AB 29, legislation to create the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development. The Office, now called GO-Biz, develops strategies to enhance business development, private sector investment, economic growth, and strategies to leverage California’s global competitiveness.
Solorio also took the lead role in stopping the sale of the Orange County Fairgrounds, benefiting thousands of local small businesses which rely on that public space.
“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the California Small Business Association. Small businesses, and the men and women that run them, are the real engine of our economy. I look forward to being a strong advocate for small business in the State Senate,” Solorio said.
The Solorio for Senate campaign has also been endorsed by State Senator Lou Correa, State Senate Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, incoming Senate leader Kevin de León, State Assemblyman Tom Daly and Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva, among others.
The 34th district includes all or parts of the communities of Anaheim, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Los Alamitos, Midway City, Rossmoor, Santa Ana, Seal Beach and Westminster.
