Santa Ana briefly turned into a scene from the Mad Max movie on Sunday, at 7:45 p.m., as two vehicles that were traveling north on South Main Street became involved in a road rage incident, according to the SAPD.
The suspect vehicle cut off the victim’s vehicle then proceeded to honk at the victim. The suspect, a male Latino, then pulled up next to the victim’s car and pointed a handgun at him.
The suspect vehicle was also occupied by a female passenger and a child! Imagine how that child is going to turn out?
The victim fled and he heard two gunshots as he sped off.
The victim was able to provide the suspect vehicle’s license plate to the police officers. The investigating officers are conducting a follow-up effort as they are trying to identify the suspect driver.
The good news is that the victim and his vehicle were not struck by gunfire as apparently the shooter was not a good shot.
The violence in Santa Ana continues to escalate. What is our inexperienced Chief of Police, Carlos Rojas, doing about that? Why is the City Council allowing him to continue to sit on his hands while patrol shift levels remain far below minimum staffing?
This incident happened at 300 South Main St., in Santa Ana, a few blocks east of Santa Ana High School, just north of West Chestnut Ave., in Santa Ana’s Ward 2, which is represented by Council Member Michele Martinez.
