Two masked men carried out an armed robbery at a clothing store at South Coast Plaza, Zara, at about 10:15 p.m. on Friday night, according to the OC Register.
Employees were held at gunpoint by at least two male suspects. The robbers not only took cash from the registers and a safe, they also took personal items from the employees.
The suspects worked quickly and we’re gone in minutes. They were caught speeding off in a sedan by surveillance video.
The police didn’t release a description of the sedan or the suspects except that the suspects were wearing dark clothing.
Fortunately no one was hurt in the incident.
A few weeks ago, on Jan. 15, several suspects carried out a smash and grab robbery at the Rolex store at the same part of the South Coast Plaza.
And last Wednesday night a man in his 20s ran out of the Apple store at the South Coast Plaza with at least 10 to 15 iPhone 6 models, just before 7:20 p.m.
The iPhones had security devices on them, which triggered an alarm as the thief fled. However he took off in a waiting blue sedan. The loss was estimated at $5,000.
The three robberies don’t seem to be related.
