If you thought you heard a police pursuit in Santa Ana yesterday evening you were right. Two males, one adult and one juvenile, sped off during a routine traffic stop, at 5:20 p.m. and led police on a pursuit that ended in their arrest, according to the O.C. Register.
The incident ended when the suspects crashed their vehicle at First Street between Elk Lane and Wright Street, in Santa Ana, according to the SAPD. Continue reading

Irvine Police Department Arrests Suspect in Purse Snatching
Irvine, Calif. (Feb. 15, 2018) – Irvine Police Department detectives on Thursday arrested the suspect in a purse snatching that turned violent a week before.

On 2/12/18, at 10:53 p.m., the suspect entered a business located in the 3700 block of W. McFadden and assaulted the victim. The suspect pointed a semi-auto handgun at the victim and demanded money. The suspect then struck the victim on the head several times with the handgun while pulling her hair. The suspect violently attacked the victim and strangled her while preventing her from escaping. Advisory: Detectives Investigating Child Abuse Case, Child Remains On Life Support

UPDATE: Sad to report one year old baby has passed away. Detectives are now investigating this case as a homicide.
On Monday, February 12, 2018, at approximately 7:56 AM, Santa Ana Police officers were dispatched to the Royal Roman Motel for a call of a one year old baby not breathing. Upon arrival, the child was found non-responsive and CPR was provided. Paramedics arrived and transported the child to Orange County Global Medical Center. The child was transferred to Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) where he remains in critical condition and on life-support. Continue reading

County of Orange enforcement efforts have reduced the number of tents in the SART homeless camp by 41% since January 22. Radical homeless advocates are suing in federal court to stop that effort and prevent the County and the cities of Anaheim, Orange and Costa Mesa from enforcing anti-camping and loitering laws on the SART and in city parks. Bus service changes go into effect Sunday to provide improved service through OC Bus 360°
ORANGE – Boarding a bus in Orange County will get easier starting Sunday, Feb. 11 when the Orange County Transportation Authority fully implements mobile ticketing on its fleet systemwide.
Riders who purchase bus fares via the OC Bus app on their smartphone or other mobile device will now be able to call up a QR code and quickly scan it on the onboard reader. Previously, coach operators had to review the screen and validate each boarding, which could slow down the boarding process. Continue reading
Thang Van Nguyen, 48, a Garden Grove man, was sentenced to only nine years in prison, on Friday, for attacking and seriously injuring his wife with a meat cleaver, according to the O.C. Register.
Nguyen and his wife got into an argument before 7 a.m., on Jan. 19, 2016, in their Garden Grove apartment. He then attacked her with a meat cleaver, which left her very badly injured with deep lacerations. Continue reading
Car thefts are way up in Santa Ana in the past two years. A particularly painful car theft happened on January 14, 2018, just two weeks into the New Year, when a vehicle was stolen near N. Williams St. and Barclay Court. The AT&T store located on 17th Street and Grand Ave., in Santa Ana, was targeted by two armed men last night, just before 9 p.m., as the store employees were working on closing the store for the night, according to ABC News.
The two suspects, one armed with a shotgun, walked into the store with bandanas covering their faces. They forced the store clerk to go to a back room while they pilfered more than 40 smart phones as they held the clerk at gunpoint, according to the SAPD. Continue reading
