The Santa Ana City Council majority will vote to overpay a sub-par new City Manager on Tuesday

Man who tried to run over Fountain Valley police officers arrested in Westminster

Fatal Traffic Collision and Officer Involved Shooting

On 10/13/2017 at 11:34 PM, Fountain Valley Police Officers responded to a fatal traffic collision at Magnolia and Mint. While investigating the fatal collision at 5:16 AM, a suspect driving a black Dodge pick-up truck drove at officers and through the fatal traffic collision scene. The suspect turned around and drove at officers a second time, and an officer involved shooting occurred.

The suspect fled the area and was stopped by officers at Bushard, south of Edinger, where he was arrested. No officers were injured and the male suspect was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Continue reading→

Why is the Santa Ana Unified School District Intentionally misleading community members and parents on the true academic achievement of the District?

At Friday’s Superintendent Breakfast, Dr. Stefanie Phillips reported to a full house of over 400 community members that 69% of the students are reading (ELA) proficient. Where did she get those numbers from? According to the new results reported by the California Department of Education, Santa Ana Unified School District is 28% proficient in ELA and 22% proficient in Math. Continue reading→

SAUSD Superintendent Dr. Stefanie Phillips Highlights Successes, Growth During 2017 State of the District Breakfast

Topics included the district’s 93 percent graduation rate, 93 percent college-going rate, and the increase of early college opportunities in the district.

(Oct. 13, 2017) – Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) Superintendent Dr. Stefanie Phillips welcomed and addressed more than 400 business and community leaders during the annual Superintendent’s State of the District Breakfast on Oct. 13, 2017 at Godinez Fundamental High School. The event was sponsored by SAUSD and the Santa Ana Public Schools Foundation.

Dr. Phillips provided a key note address in her State of the District message highlighting the District’s successes, challenges, and plans of action to ensure all students are being prepared for college and careers and to be productive citizens of our society. Heroic police officer to speak at the next Santa Ana Republican Womens Federated meeting

Local Hero Sgt. Mike Gonzalez, 24-year veteran of the SAPD and a Navy combat veteran with extensive training in treating trauma victims, was a hero in time of need. He was at the recent mass shooting at a concert in Las Vegas and tended to 11 injured concertgoers and helped another 15 or so into vehicles for transport to the hospital.

Now Gonzalez will be sharing his story of the mass shooting in Las Vegas at the next Santa Ana Republican Womens Federated meeting, on Monday, Oct. 23 @ 7 p.m., at Marie Callendar’s Restaurant, located at 1821 N. Grand Avenue, in Santa Ana. Continue reading→

The Santa Ana City Council majority is planning on paying their new City Manager over half a million a year

It is bad enough that the Santa Ana City Council majority – comprised of Council Members Michele Martinez, Vince Sarmiento, Sal Tinajero and David Benavides – is planning on hiring Raul Godinez to be our new City Manager, after he washed out as the El Monte City Manager. Now my sources are reporting that the City Council wants to pay Godinez over $500,000 a year in pay and benefits!

That would be quite a raise for Godinez, who is currently in charge of Public Works at the tiny City of Lynwood, which is paying him $174,294.50 in total pay and benefits, according to Transparent California. Continue reading→

An effort to evict a business Thursday led investigators to a marijuana grow operation in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.

Orange County sheriff’s deputies discovered a honey oil lab including a marijuana grow operation when they tried to evict a business at 1714 E. McFadden Ave. on Thursday, Oct. 12, according to the SAPD. Continue reading→

15th annual Food Drive and Karate Tournament set for Nov. 12 at Segerstrom High School

On Sunday – November 12th the Te-Kenjutsu-Kan Karate-Do Organization is hosting it’s 15th Annual “Adlawan Cup-Food Dive Karate Tournament” at a new venue – Segerstrom High School, located at 2301 W MacArthur Blvd., in the City of Santa Ana.

The Lincoln Club of Orange County supports allowing the Dreamers to stay in the U.S.

Santa Ana man who killed his mother sentenced to a state mental hospital

Marvin Horatio Cipullo, 32, a man diagnosed with schizophrenia will be sent to a state mental hospital instead of prison for stabbing his mother, 57-year-old Rebeca Garcia, to death in their Santa Ana home, according to the O.C. Register.

Cipullo stabbed Garcia with a kitchen knife in her home back in September 2010 and then he took off. Her body was found by her other son. Continue reading→
