An unidentified woman in her 20s ended up at the trauma unit of a local hospital after she crashed her motorcycle into a car on Friday night, at Bristol Street and Santa Clara Ave., in Santa Ana, at 7:45 p.m., according to the O.C. Register.
The woman’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. She is recovering at UCI Medical Center, in stable condition. Continue reading

John Redman, a 54-year-old man was struck and killed as he crossed the 2649 W. First Street shortly before dawn Monday, according to the Orange County Coroner.
SAPD investigators believe that it is highly unlikely that Redman was using the crosswalk when he was hit, according to the O.C. Register. Continue reading

The Orange County Coroner’s office has confirmed that Jose Barraza-Soto of Santa Ana, 40, was killed last Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, when two-vehicles crashed in Lake Forest, near the Foothill Towne Centre, according to the Patch.
A 2016 Hyundai collided with a 1997 Ford F150 truck, which Barraza-Soto was driving, at around 2:20 a.m. at Alton Parkway and Towne Center Drive, according to the O.C. Register. Video of the crash scene is available here. Continue reading
Pheach Phath, a 66-year-old man died in a one-car collision on Sunday morning, after hitting a brick wall at the corner of East Edinger Avenue and Cedar Street, in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.

An unidentified man died last night at about 10 p.m., after being struck by a car as he crossed First Street near Maple Street, near El Vaquero, late Sunday night, according to the O.C. Register.
The man, whose identity is being withheld pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, according to the SAPD. Continue reading
The family and friends of Luis Antonio Torres, the 15-year old Century High School student who was killed last week when a suspected DUI driver crashed into a car he was sitting in, on the shoulder of the 57 Freeway, is raising funds to help pay for his funeral services via GoFundMe.

(September 2, 2016) – In answer to rapidly increasing numbers of pedestrians being killed and injured on California roadways, the California State Senate has passed a resolution declaring September as “California Pedestrian Safety Month.” The Orange County Sheriff’s Department will be joining with other law enforcement agencies, city and state transportation agencies, pedestrian advocates and walking clubs to promote public awareness aimed at both drivers and pedestrians alike to always be aware of each other and share the road responsibly.
This first-ever specially designated month draws attention to the 813 pedestrians killed on California roadways in 2015 alone, accounting for nearly 25 percent of all roadways deaths in the state, up from 17 percent just ten years earlier. Continue reading
An unidentified man in his 50s was badly hurt after his sport-utility vehicle crashed into a house at the 2100 block of South Greenville Avenue, at W. St. Gertrude Place, in Santa Ana this morning at around 9:40 a.m., according to the O.C. Register.
The man’s bronze Hyundai crashed into the garage portion of the house and the driver ended up at a local hospital, in what was described as serious condition. Continue reading

Santa Ana, Ca. (August 18, 2016) – On Wednesday, August 17, 2016, Orange County Sheriff’s Department Traffic Bureau investigators arrested Damon Ellery Block, 41, following an investigation of a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Santiago Canyon Road in Modjeska Canyon.
On August 1, 2016, a fatal vehicle vs. motorcycle accident occurred on Santiago Canyon Road in Modjeska Canyon. The driver of the motorcycle died, and the female passenger on the motorcycle was severely injured. On 08/17/16 at 12:10 am, an SAPD K-9 officer was driving northbound in the 2400 block of South Bristol Street when he was flagged down by witnesses of a hit and run traffic collision. They directed the officer to a female pedestrian that was lying in the street. The pedestrian was unresponsive. The witnesses indicated that a silver SUV or minivan was northbound in the #1 lane of Bristol Street in front of them when it struck the pedestrian. The vehicle never slowed and continued to the red light at Warner Avenue. Once the red left turn arrow turned to green, the silver vehicle fled the scene westbound on Warner and out of sight. Retired NBA player Dennis Rodman, who once played for the Lakers, is waiting to see if prosecutors will file charges against him in an alleged hit-and-run accident, according to the O.C. Register.
To date Rodman has not been cited or arrested, according to the CHP. However the agency did recommend that the OCDA charge Rodman with felony hit-and-run and driving the wrong way on a freeway. Continue reading

Dennis Rodman has been named a “person of interest” in a hit-and-run investigation in Santa Ana, after a late night collision Wednesday morning, according to TMZ Sports.
An eyewitness told California Highway Patrol (CHP) that there was another car involved and Rodman happened to be in it, according to the Daily Mail. However Rodman was not at the scene when law enforcement arrived.
