36-year-old Eduardo Estrada-Luevano of Santa Ana was killed on Friday, March 17, when his motorcycle collided with a van in a hit-and-run crash, according to ABC News.
The collision happened around 5:15 p.m. in the 200 block of South Standard Avenue, according to the O.C. Register. Continue reading→
Herbert Granados Calderon, a 26-year-old man, pleaded guilty Tuesday to causing an alcohol-fueled, three-vehicle crash that killed an 18-year-old man and injured five others in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.
Calderon will be sentenced on March 24. He will likely receive 15 years to life in prison. Calderon pleaded guilty to second- degree murder for the Oct. 25, 2014 car crash that killed Roberto Rubio, according to the OCDA. Continue reading→
Melissa Guadalupe Hernandez, a 9-year old girl who attended Jim Thorpe Fundamental School, died after two cars crashed into each other on Sunday night at around 11:30 p.m., in front of the South Coast Global Medical Center at 2701 South Bristol Street, according to the O.C. Register.
Hernandez was riding in a Honda Civic, with her father, when their car was broadsided by a Toyota Camry, according to the SAPD. Continue reading→

Advisory: Pedestrian Identified In This Mornings Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Fatal Collision
Deceased: Kassim Mohamed Kassim (65) Costa Mesa
On 01/05/17 at 0531 hours, officers were dispatched Code 3 to the area of Warner Avenue and Susan Street for a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision. The pedestrian was reported to still be down in the street. Officers arrived and the found the pedestrian lying in the westbound #3 lane of Warner between the two Susan Street offset prolongations.
The Orange County Fire Authority responded and the pedestrian was transported to a local trauma center in grave condition. The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries a short time later at the hospital. Physical evidence and eyewitness accounts of the event indicate that the pedestrian was attempting to cross Warner Avenue in a northbound direction from the south curb when he was struck by a white Dodge Ram pickup truck that was traveling westbound on Warner. An unidentified woman was burned at the Lola Gaspar restaurant located at 211 West 2nd St. in DTSA shortly after midnight on New Year’s Eve after a bartender lit liquor on fire, according to the O.C. Register.
Authorities said a bartender poured alcohol onto the bar at Lola Gaspar and lit it on fire, according to ABC News. Somehow the woman’s hair and face caught fire, just after midnight, according to the SAPD. Continue reading→
An unidentified pedestrian in his 50s is in critical condition at a local hospital after he was hit by two cars Friday evening, one of which fled, at Euclid Street and Hazard Ave., in Santa Ana, last night at around 9:50 p.m., according to the O.C. Register.
The victim was hit by a silver car that kept on going and while he was on the ground he was run over by a Honda, according to the SAPD. Continue reading→

Imagine crashing into a police vehicle? That happened to two people in Santa Ana last night at about 10:10 p.m. as the car they were riding in collided with a California Highway Patrol vehicle at Fourth Street and Cabrillo Park Drive, according to the O.C. Register.

An unidentified 31-year-old man was struck and killed by a car as he rode his motorcycle near Segerstrom Avenue and Spruce Street this morning at around 6:15 a.m., according to the O.C. Register.

Tracy Clapp, a 36-year old Santa Ana woman, found out today that she is heading to prison for six years, for running over and killing Christopher Chavez, a 26-year old Santa Ana high school band teacher in a hit and run crash on April 20, according to the O.C. Register.
Clapp ran over Chavez as he was walking in a crosswalk at Bristol Street and Central Ave. at around 2:15 a.m. SAPD police investigators said that Clapp ran a red light, in her SUV, when she hit Chavez. She then took off after she saw that he was injured. Continue reading→
An unidentified pedestrian died on Monday night after he was hit by a car while crossing the street at the 3200 block of Edinger Avenue, in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.
SAPD police officers showed up at the scene just before 10 p.m. and found that the victim had been crossing the westbound lanes of Edinger Avenue, north of Centennial Park, when a Ford sedan hit him. Continue reading→
Homeless Man hit by vehicle
This morning a homeless man crossing the street intersection was struck by a vehicle going east bound on Civic Center Dr and Sycamore St.
A witness named Manny reported that he saw the man get hit by the vehicle and he also said that the victim had minor injuries and complained of pain in his torso. Continue reading→

An car got stuck on the median at N. Spurgeon St. and E. 3rd St. this afternoon in Downtown Santa Ana according to community activist Igmar Rodas. He said that he has heard of two other similar incidents including one that involved a motorcycle that hit the median and spun out of control, ultimately crashing into Diego’s.
This time the driver of the unfortunate vehicle just got stuck on top of the median. The owner told Rodas that he was blinded by the sun as he was turning left from East 3rd St. onto North Spurgeon St. Continue reading→
