A juvenile male was shot on Friday night in Santa Ana, just before midnight at the 1400 block of South Spruce St., according to the O.C. Register.
The victim was walking with several others when a vehicle pulled up alongside them and an unknown suspect fired one shot from a gun. The police do not yet know who the suspect was targeting. Continue reading→

SANTA ANA, Calif. – A drunken driver was sentenced today to 22 years to life in state prison for murdering a 6-year-old girl and severely injuring the child’s sister and mother by crashing into them in a crosswalk after driving through a red light. Jessicah Louise Cowan, 37, Lake Hughes, was found guilty by a jury on April 15, 2016, of one felony count each of murder, vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence while intoxicated, hit and run with permanent injury or death, hit and run with injury, two felony counts of driving under the influence causing bodily injury, two felony counts of driving with a blood alcohol content of .08% or more causing bodily injury, and an infraction for possession of marijuana while driving. Allegations and sentencing enhancements for causing bodily injury to Eloisa M. and Grisea M., having a blood alcohol content of .20 percent or more, fleeing the scene of a vehicular manslaughter, and causing great bodily injury were found true. On 06/10/2016 at approximately 9 a.m. the photographed suspect took several items from the business without paying for them. He was then confronted by store employees and the suspect used force to flee the scene.
Suspect is described as: Male, White, 25-30 years old, 5’6”-5’8” tall, dark hair, wearing horn-rimmed glasses, grey jacket, black pants and a blue Quick Silver hat. Continue reading→

Irvine Police Arrest Man Following Burglary-In-Progress Report
Irvine, CA – The Irvine Police Department has arrested a man for burglarizing an electronic repair business. William Cortez, 24, of Santa Ana, was taken into custody on charges of commercial burglary and vandalism.

Synopsis: On 07/10/16 at 12:19 AM, officers responded to a vehicle vs. multi pedestrian, hit and run collision on Hazard Ave. west of Harbor Blvd. Upon arrival, the officers located the victims lying in the street on Hazard Ave. Statements obtained indicated the three pedestrians were standing in the two way turn lane on Hazard Ave. when a dark colored SUV, driven by a male Hispanic, drove eastbound in the two way turn lane and struck the pedestrians. Two of the pedestrians sustained critical injuries from the collision and one died as a result of the collision. Rojas, who was hired by our City Council with zero executive experience (primarily because he is a Latino), inherited a police department that his predecessor, Chief Paul Walters, had built into one of the top police departments in the entire country. While the Major League Baseball All Star game festivities were starting up in San Diego, a man was getting shot and seriously injured in Santa Ana, on Monday night, at around 7:15 p.m., according to the O.C. Register.
The victim, an unidentified man, was shot at least twice in his upper torso, at the intersection of Cypress and Old McFadden Avenues, according to the SAPD. Continue reading→

On Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 12:19 am officers responded to a vehicle vs. multi-pedestrian, hit and run collision on Hazard Av. just west of Harbor Blvd.
Based on evidence at the scene, it appears three female pedestrians were standing in the two-way turn lane of Hazard Av. just west of Harbor Blvd. when they were struck by a dark colored SUV. One of our readers has reported that a male hit and run driver in a dark SUV, plowed into three alleged prostitutes, killing one, at about 12:15 a.m. this morning. This happened on Hazard Street 1 block west of Harbor.
Paramedics put the deceased victim in an ambulance but they stayed at the scene. Apparently they were waiting to transfer the victim to the O.C. Coroner. Continue reading→

SANTA ANA, Calif. – A man was sentenced to 15 years to life in state prison today for killing an innocent pedestrian after crashing into him at the conclusion of a high speed chase with officers from the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD). Victor Manuel Sanchez, 24, Santa Ana, pleaded guilty May 17, 2016, to one felony count of murder and one felony count of evading a peace officer while driving recklessly causing serious bodily injury and death with a sentencing enhancement for great bodily injury.
On May 30, 2013, Sanchez was driving a white Dodge Charger in a known criminal street gang area in Santa Ana with two associates. SAPD officers were patrolling the area in a marked police vehicle at the time. Continue reading→

Advisory: DETECTIVES MAKE ARREST IN SEXUAL ASSAULT SERIES
A series of sexual assaults occurred in Santa Ana involving the same male suspect and three self-admitted female prostitute victims. One attack took place in August 2015, and two additional crimes happened in January 2016. In each assault, the suspect posed as a police officer and lured the victims into his car. The suspect then drove the victims to secluded locations, where he forcefully raped two of them. The third victim had escaped before the rape occurred.
On June 2, 2016, the Santa Ana Police Department released information to the public regarding the sexual assaults. Santa Ana Police detectives asked people to come forward with any tips that might lead to the suspect’s identification. As a result of the news release, Joseph Raymond Stanton, 42, of Long Beach, was identified as a possible suspect. Continue reading→

On July 6, 2016 at approximately 10:06PM Santa Ana Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 2100 West Washington regarding shots fired and a subject down. When officers arrived, they found the victim, 20 year old Anthony Ramirez from Santa Ana, unconscious and unresponsive in the middle of the street. Ramirez was suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Orange County Fire Authority paramedics arrived on scene and pronounced Ramirez deceased. Continue reading→
Luis Flores-Mendoza of Santa Ana, a 26-year-old, was arrested after he pretended to be a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent and threatened to deport a woman if she didn’t give him money, according to the O.C. Register.
The victim, an unidentified woman, said that on June 6, the suspect went to a restaurant in Anaheim, where she worked. The suspect was dressed in a green uniform with a vest, gun, and a badge. He said that he was a Federal agent, according to the Placentia Police Department. Continue reading→
A man was shot at the intersection of Washington Ave. and King Street, in Santa Ana, on Wednesday night, just after 10 p.m., according to the O.C. Register.
When the police arrived they found the man had been injured with multiple gun shots. He was declared dead at the scene by OCFA paramedics. The police then closed down the adjacent streets while they investigated the murder. Continue reading→
