Orange County District Attorney (OCDA) Tony Rackauckas has published a letter justifying the fatal shooting of Santa Ana resident Andres Ramirez, on Dec. 10, 2010, by Santa Ana Police officer Frank Gutierrez. Click here to read the OCDA’s letter.
Unfortunately the OCDA posts these letters in graphic format so that we can’t copy and paste the information. What the OCDA determined was that Ramirez, who moved here from North Carolina, was one of several young men who ran when SAPD officers drove by the alley that they were apparently drinking beer in. Thanh Van Quang, 39, Fountain Valley, was found guilty by a jury today of one felony count each of arson of an inhabited property and possession of a flammable material with sentencing enhancements for arson with use of an accelerant. WESMINSTER – A former Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) bus driver is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow for possessing hundreds of graphic images and videos of child pornography. Richard Raoul Contreras, 63, Garden Grove, is charged with one felony count of possession and control of child pornography. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of three years in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration. The defendant is out of custody on $20,000 bail. WESTMINSTER – A registered sex offender was sentenced today to three years in state prison for arranging to meet an underage girl for sex through Craigslist. Carlton Earl Griner, 56, Garden Grove, pleaded guilty today to one felony count each of contacting a child with intent to commit a lewd act, meeting a minor with intent to engage in lewd conduct, and attempted lewd act upon a child under 14 years old. Griner was also required to register as a lifetime sex offender in California based on his prior conviction of possessing child pornography in Iowa. Continue reading→

MAN CHARGED WITH STABBING-MURDER OF VICTIM IN HUNTINGTON BEACH APARTMENT
WESTMINSTER – A man has been charged with the stabbing-murder of a 51-year-old victim in a Huntington Beach apartment. Rito Samuel Tejeda, 22, Santa Ana, was charged today with one felony count of murder with a sentencing enhancement for the personal use of a deadly weapon and faces a maximum sentence of 26 years to life in state prison if convicted. Tejeda is being held on $1 million bail and is scheduled for a continued arraignment Nov. 22, 2013, at 8:30 a.m. in Department W-1, West Justice Center, Westminster. The time is to be determined.
