John William Zelinski, a 62-year-old man, pleaded guilty Wednesday to voluntary manslaughter for fatally stabbing a homeless man in Santa Ana in 1984, according to the O.C. Register.
Zelinski was originally looking at a murder charge and a sentencing enhancement for the use of a deadly weapon, but he accepted a plea deal from prosecutors. Continue reading

On October 4, 2018, Santa Ana Police Department detectives began an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct by a After School Instructional Provider working at Greenville Fundamental Elementary School in the Santa Ana Unified School District.
On October 5, 2018, detectives arrested Eddy Bustamante Infante at his residence for Aggravated Sexual Assault on multiple victims. Infante was booked at the Orange County Jail on multiple child abuse charges. Infante posted bail and was released from custody. Continue reading

SANTA ANA, Ca. (October 10, 2018)- On October 9, 2018, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Highway Interdiction Team initiated a traffic stop for vehicle code violations on the northbound I-5 freeway between Orange and San Diego counties. The driver, Miguel Patron, 41, Ensenada, identified himself, stated he was a police officer in Mexico and handed the deputy his police identification. William Jason Plumley, 41, a Huntington Beach man accused of conspiring with a Santa Ana psychiatrist to sell prescription opioids, pleaded guilty Tuesday to federal drug-distribution charges according to the O.C. Register.
Plumley accepted a plea deal that required him to admit to federal charges of distributing methamphetamine and conspiring to distribute controlled substances. Continue reading

Kim Riker moved her company, Rice Drywall Inc., a 45-year-old family business, to Santa Ana from its longtime home in South El Monte back in 2010. She must surely regret that now! The City of Santa Ana has actually fined her business $800 for the mess left outside their walls by a homeless vagrant, according to the O.C. Register.
This is outrageous! It is obvious that the city workers who issued a fine to Rice Drywall, Inc. are completely worthless and should be fired. This ridiculous action also means that we need to ensure that we get new leadership on the City Council. Fortunately several of the incumbents are termed out. Eddy Bustamante Infante (23-years-old), a resident of Santa Ana, was arrested for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. Infante has been an After School Instructional Provider / Teacher’s Aide at Greenville Elementary School located at 3600 S. Raitt Street in Santa Ana since 2015.
The 12-year-old female victim reported that Infante sexually assaulted her during an after school program when she was only 10-years-old. The victim did not immediately report this incident. Detectives launched an investigation and located additional female victims who reported Infante also sexually assaulted them. To date, SAPD detectives have identified 3 victims in this case.
