How drunk would you have to be to crash your vehicle into a police car? This happened to a 54-year old Santa Ana resident named Ignacio Roldan-Peralto on Saturday, Oct. 21, when he crashed his pick-up truck into an SAPD police car at 1:20 a.m., according to the O.C. Register.
The incident happened as Roldan-Peralto was turning left on Jackson St. at 1st Street – when he slammed into an SAPD police cruiser in the middle of the intersection, according to the SAPD. Continue reading
A person being called a suspect was injured and another individual was taken into custody after a police shooting in Santa Ana Friday night, according to KTLA.
The shooting happened at about 7:30 p.m. at the 2000 block of West 17th St. The SAPD ended up closing much of 17th from Alona to English St. while they investigated the incident. Continue reading

DECEDENTS: Rachel Nguyen, age 20 of Westminster and Joseph Orbeso, age 22 of Lakewood
On Sunday, October 15, 2017, at 1:50 pm, Sheriff’s dispatch received a call from a park ranger at the Joshua Tree National Park regarding two deceased persons located inside the park. Deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station were flown to the area as it was not accessible by vehicle, and was described as a steep canyon to the far north of the Maze Loop Trailhead.
Due to suspicious circumstances and visible injuries to the decedents, detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail were requested to respond to the location. Due to loss of daylight, additional investigation and the recovery of the bodies was postponed until Monday, October 16th. Continue reading

Fatal Traffic Collision and Officer Involved Shooting
On 10/13/2017 at 11:34 PM, Fountain Valley Police Officers responded to a fatal traffic collision at Magnolia and Mint. While investigating the fatal collision at 5:16 AM, a suspect driving a black Dodge pick-up truck drove at officers and through the fatal traffic collision scene. The suspect turned around and drove at officers a second time, and an officer involved shooting occurred.
The suspect fled the area and was stopped by officers at Bushard, south of Edinger, where he was arrested. No officers were injured and the male suspect was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Continue reading

Marvin Horatio Cipullo, 32, a man diagnosed with schizophrenia will be sent to a state mental hospital instead of prison for stabbing his mother, 57-year-old Rebeca Garcia, to death in their Santa Ana home, according to the O.C. Register.
Cipullo stabbed Garcia with a kitchen knife in her home back in September 2010 and then he took off. Her body was found by her other son. Continue reading

“I’m shocked and dumbfounded that Rojas would make such false accusations and continue to damage our city and community. The truth, that the Police Officers Association knows is he was incompetent and had lost the confidence of the rank and file; a vote of No Confidence was initiated, personnel matters were mismanaged and he was unable to implement an effective community oriented policing philosophy. The Santa Ana Police Department is currently assisting the California State Attorney General’s Office and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service in the collection of recorders that may have been exposed to bodily fluids.
A recorder is a wooden flute-like musical instrument used by children. Based on information provided by the Attorney General and Postal Inspectors, the Santa Ana Police Department was able to identify approximately 55 children that took a musical class at Bower’s Kidseum on June 27, June 28, or July 22, 2017. The classes were taught by an independent contractor not employed by Bower’s Kidseum, who is not being identified at this time. Continue reading
It turns out that the robbery suspect that was shot and wounded yesterday evening by an SAPD police officer, at a Chevron gas station, may be a suspect the police were already looking for in connection with at least seven armed robberies, according to the O.C. Register.
The suspect was shot when he tried to rob a Chevron gas station at Grand and N. Fairhaven avenues in Santa Ana on Thursday, Sept. 28, at round 5:40 p.m. Continue reading
