The OCTA responds to Mayor Pulido regarding the pending bus line changes in Santa Ana

The OCTA’s CEO, Darrell Johnson, responded in writing to Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido regarding the Proposed 2016 Bus Service Plan, on January 8. The OCTA is considering getting rid of the bus lines 51, 145, and 76 that serve the people of Santa Ana.

The problem that the OCTA is contending with is that bus ridership has gone down quite a bit. That may be due in part to the large number of immigrants who have left Santa Ana, heading to other cities and states and even returning to Latin America.

OCTA Honors Employees Who Served For Veterans Day

About 10 percent of OCTA’s workforce is former military service men and women

ORANGE – The Orange County Transportation Authority today recognized the service of employees who are military veterans during OCTA’s fifth annual Veterans Day Appreciation event.

OCTA employs 115 veterans from the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines and Coast Guard, representing nearly 10 percent of the workforce. OCTA has been recognized by military organizations as a military-friendly employer for its efforts to actively recruit veterans. Continue reading→

Johnson Named Next CEO of OCTA

Darrell Johnson, a 20-year industry veteran, will take over the reins March 1

ORANGE – Darrell Johnson, the current deputy CEO of the Orange County Transportation Authority, was selected by the board of directors today to become the next chief executive officer effective March 1.

“Darrell has extensive experience in the transportation industry and an unparalleled understanding of OCTA’s vision,” said OCTA Chairman Paul Glaab, also the mayor of Laguna Niguel. “He has been instrumental in developing and implementing OCTA’s strategic goals and we are excited he will be stepping into this new role.” Continue reading→
