OC Business and Community Leaders Experience a Day in the life of a Principal during SAUSD’s Principal for a Day
Event: Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) will host “Principal for a Day” to provide members of the community an opportunity to experience the daily operation of a school. Each of the district’s 56 schools will have a guest principal from the community on campus. Following their morning assignments at their specified schools, the guest principals will join all the principals in the Santa Ana Unified School District for a luncheon and program at Santa Ana High School in which they will share their experiences earlier in the morning at their schools. Mental health care for America’s veterans remains one of the great challenges facing Southern California. A new USC study released in February found that nearly 20% of Orange County veterans had made a plan to die by suicide; nearly half of those considering suicide did not receive help; and that 44% of post-9/11 veterans had PTSD. The “Ready for Hillary” organization, which is promoting Hillary Clinton as a presumptive Democratic candidate for U.S. President, is hosting a fundraiser in Santa Ana on Thursday, March 26, 2015, from 6 to 8 pm. The event will be held at Diego’s Downtown, located at 224 East 3rd St, in Santa Ana.
The event will be chaired by Santa Ana Councilwoman Michele Martinez and Mayor Pro Tem Vincent Sarmiento, Anaheim Councilman Jordan Brandman, and Fran Sdao, the Recording Secretary at the Capistrano Unified Council PTSA.

Pre-Columbian Artifacts from Bowers Permanent Collection on Display thru April 12
SANTA ANA, CA – The Bowers Museum is currently upgrading many of the historic galleries in its Mary Muth Wing, which will reopen with an exciting series of exhibitions in 2015, starting in April with the highly-anticipated Adams, Curtis and Weston: Photographers of the American West exhibit. In order to take advantage of the progress of the renovation, the Bowers will mount a special Treasures of Veracruz exhibit opening Saturday, March 14, which will showcase eight Pre-Columbian artifacts from the museum’s permanent collection.
