4x Super Bowl Champ Jesse Sapolu to sign autographs at MainPlace on 12/6

Four-time San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl champion Jesse Sapolu will be signing autographs on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, from 3:30 pm to 9 pm at the Westfield MainPlace Mall in Santa Ana.

In his new book, I Gave My Heart to San Francisco, four-time San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl champion Jesse Sapolu detailed the highlights and hardships of his remarkable playing career, according to the 49ers website.

Jesse Sapolu attended Farrington High School and the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. Standing 6 feet 4 inches, 278 lbs., he was selected by the Oakland Invaders in the 17th round (199th pick overall) of the 1983 USFL draft, and selected by San Francisco 49ers in the 11th round (289th pick overall) of the 1983 NFL Draft. He signed with the San Francisco 49ers on July 10, 1983, according to Wikipedia. Continue reading→

AT-RISK YOUTH EARN 851 TURKEY DINNERS IN 4TH ANNUAL THANKSGIVING GANG PREVENTION INCENTIVE

SANTA ANA – Turkey dinners will be awarded tomorrow to 851 at-risk students who succeeded in Orange County Gang Reduction Intervention Partnership’s (OC GRIP) 4th annual Thanksgiving challenge to improve their attendance, behavior, and grades in time for Thanksgiving.

Ralphs/Food 4 Less and Saddleback Church donated double the number of turkey dinners, over 850 this year compared to 400 in years past, as part of the ongoing OC GRIP gang prevention effort to keep kids in school and out of gangs. The total donation is valued at over $25,000. OC GRIP extended the incentive to twice as many students at 43 schools this year compared to the previously-participating 23 schools. Continue reading→

O.C. Clerk-Recorder’s offices open on Saturdays, today and on 12/14

After the Board of Supervisors appointed Hugh Nguyen as Orange County Clerk-Recorder in April, Nguyen implemented a series of changes ranging from fiscal accountability reforms to stronger personnel oversight. Part of the changes include better customer service for the people of Orange County. The Clerk-Recorder’s office is now open one Saturday a month to accommodate Orange County residents.

“I am so proud that over the past several months, our new Clerk-Recorder has acted swiftly to produce not only responsible government, but also responsive government,” Supervisor Todd Spitzer said. “These special Saturday openings allow working families to get the critical documents they need.” Continue reading→
