Santa Ana, CA — Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary will host its Dia de los Muertos Service at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 2nd at the North Gardens Pavillion in Fairhaven Memorial Park.
Dia de los Muertos (or Day of the Dead) is a celebration of the lives of those who have passed, honoring the dead with art, music, altars, and plenty of smiles and is held on November 2, when tradition says the souls of departed loved ones return to partake of the offerings (flowers, candles, food and drink) set out for them on ofrendas by families and friends. City of Santa Ana, Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency proudly announces the opening of a new exercise park in the Madison Park Neighborhood. On October 27, 2012, at 9 a.m. a Ribbon Cutting ceremony will take place at this exciting new park, which is located, adjacent to the very popular Pacific Electric bike trail. This new .41-acre park is located on Maple Street just north of Occidental Street. As you are biking, walking or running south on the Pacific Electric trail, you will find this new oasis of health just south of Edinger Ave. The ceremony will take place at 9 a.m., where light refreshments will be served and a drawing will be held for a new bike. October 2012 is the 2nd year Anniversary of the ESL Toastmaster Club No. 1 and the 88th Anniversary year of Toastmasters International-founded on October 22, 1924 in Santa Ana, California, Ca at the YMCA.
In October 2010, a group of multilingual international adults from various professions decided to charter an ESL Toastmasters Club to help them improved their English language, speaking and leadership skills. They decided October as the month to charter the club so that each year both events (the club’s anniversary and Toastmasters Anniversary) could be celebrated together. Continue reading
