Community Alert: 15th Annual Cinco de Mayo Festival Features Big Name Talent In First City Produced Event

SANTA ANA, CA – The City of Santa Ana’s 15th Annual Downtown Cinco de Mayo Festival kicks off Friday, May 2 with carnival rides starting at 6 p.m. The street fair continues all weekend in Santa Ana’s beautiful historic downtown on Fourth Street on Saturday, May 3, from Noon to 9 p.m. and Sunday May 4, from Noon to 8 p.m. This year, the Festival will feature fifteen great performances on the main stage in addition to the great food, games, arts and crafts, and opportunities to shop and get information about art, activities, events and programs.

On Saturday, May 3, the highly popular Los Horoscopos de Durango will be performing on the main stage. A key treat for the community and the region is a special appearance by the Coach for the All Star Soccer team from Mexico that will be competing at the World Cup next month in Brazil. Coach Miguel Herrera, also known as “El Piojo,” will be taking questions from youth soccer players on the main stage on Sunday, May 4. Twenty youth soccer players will be selected to ask “El Piojo” a question in front of a huge audience of soccer loving fans. Continue reading→

Join Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary as they share “The Story of Our Flag” at its 22nd Annual Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 26 at 10:30 a.m.

More than 3,500 Orange County residents are expected to attend the event, which will feature vivid representations of our flag’s most moving moments in history, inspiring speeches by military veterans, a “Parade of Flags” by The Tustin Young Marines, the Boy Scouts of America and the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps, and an aerial fly-over of World War II-era planes. The event will kick off with a special performance of the National Anthem by the “Star Spangled Singer” contest winner and conclude with an extraordinary surprise together with the Tustin Community Choir and the Tustin High School Glee Club. Mariners Church Santa Ana is going to be launching services at the Delhi Center on Easter, April 20th, at their newest campus in Santa Ana. But first they are inviting everyone in Santa Ana to their Kick-Off Picnic on March 22, 2014, from 1 to 3 pm at Delhi Park.

This free picnic will feature food, fun, and family as they celebrate the coming launch of their new church. There will be free tacos, face painting, activities and crafts for kids.

The SoCal Honda’s Helpful Guys in Blue will be surprising thousands of families, including Irvine residents, with complimentary pumpkins this Sunday. The Guys in Blue will be surprising residents with free pumpkins as they enter the patch, carrying pumpkins for visitors and more! Just ask! Walking ponies, shoveling up after the animals, providing complimentary waters, etc.. they’re here to help. They have surprised Irvine residents with large and small acts of helpful multiple times a month for the last 7 years –including pumping and paying for driver’s gas, cleaning up local parks, helping college students move-in, recognizing local teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week and much more. SANTA ANA, CA (October 21, 2013) – The Santa Ana Public Library invites the community to the annual TeenSpace Haunted House at the Jerome Recreation Center and Santa Ana Central Library. These events are free and open to the public.

The Jerome haunted house will be open to the public on October 24th & 25th from 6-8pm. TeenSpace staff will be giving out free candy while supplies last. Community members are asked to line up along the south side of the Recreation Center facing the soccer field. The Jerome Recreation Center is located on 726 S. Center Street Santa Ana, CA 92704. Tustin Tiller Days shut down on Saturday due to winds, will reopen on Sunday

NEW UPDATE: The Tustin Tiller Days will be open today. Click here for more info.

UPDATED: The Tustin Tiller Days event was shut down on Friday night and was not allowed to reopen on Saturday due to high winds. This was a real bummer for the community particularly the non-profits who lost a day of food sales. Organizers say they will announce on Sunday, by 10 am, if the can reopen. For more info click here.

The 56th Annual Tustin Tiller Days will be on: October 4th, 5th, and 6th, 2013. The hours the festival will be open are: Friday, October 4th: 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Saturday, October 5th: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM, and Sunday, October 6th: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM.
