O.C. Tet Festival

The Tet Festival of Southern California is taking place this year from Feb. 8-10, in Westminster.  This event is recognized as the world’s largest Tet Festival outside of Vietnam.  The Tet Festival attracts over 100,000+ every year.  Visitors are immersed with a vibrant array of traditional foods, live entertainment, festive games, and customs celebrating the new year.  Click here to like the Tet Festival on Facebook.

A coalition of groups led by the Vietnamese American Federation of Southern California raised more than $81,000, so the Tet Parade, the only one of its kind in the U.S., will be happening as part of the Tet Festival, on Feb. 10.

Holiday with the critters

This Saturday night, December 15, from 5:30-8 PM, it’s the annual “Holidays With the Critters!”  Come celebrate the holiday season with us at the Santa Ana Zoo.

We had a blast last night doing the Dreamnight event, and now we’re ready to do it all over again for you and your family!
The Zoo entrance and Farm area will feature live entertainment, exciting animal presentations, sparkling lights and holiday decorations, games, holiday storytelling, fun interactive crafts, five “treat” stations with big prizes including an additional “prize” station, and more! Irvine Park Railroad’s 17th Annual Christmas Train – Dec. 8, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.  (Activities open at 4 pm).

It’s the season, once again for Irvine Park Railroad’s annual Christmas Train. Come with family and friends and take this enchanting night ride through historic Irvine Regional Park to meet Santa Claus. The train will depart from the brightly-lit train station and drop you off at Santa’s Village.

  • Meet Trick or Treaters at the door, never encourage children to enter a stranger’s house or invite them into your home.
  • Have children go with an adult or an older brother or sister.
  • Carry a flashlight, glowstick or reflective bag.

Watch Star Wars under the stars at the Santiago Park Nature Reserve on 9/28

We have all probably seen the original “Star Wars” movie many, many times. But this Friday, Sep. 28, you can watch it again – under the stars, at the Santiago Park Nature Reserve, at 7:30 pm, courtesy of the Santa Ana Naturalist Program.

Gather around the Santiago Park Nature Reserve fire pit and bring your own blankets, hot dogs, marshmallows, skewers, blankets, warm clothing and hot beverages. Punch, water and popcorn will be provided for free by the Santiago Park Nature Reserve staff. Continue reading→
