The OC Health Care Agency has released a list of the eateries (including restaurants, caterers and even school kitchens) that they inspected and shut down for the week of Oct. 5 to 12, 2018. Most of these eateries reopen pretty quickly after the health inspectors determine their issues have been resolved. Here is the list:

OC Health Care Agency Presents Food Safety Seminar for Orange County Restaurants

(Santa Ana, CA) – The OC Health Care Agency (HCA), in partnership with Chairman Andrew Do and Supervisor Michelle Steel of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, will be hosting a Food Safety Seminar on October 10th in the City of Fountain Valley.

“We’re excited to help bring Orange County restaurant owners and managers together with representatives from HCA’s Environmental Health division to participate in this educational event,” said Chairman Do, who represents the First District including parts of the City of Fountain Valley. “This unique, in-person approach continues to strengthen ongoing dialogue between the County of Orange and our business community with the shared goal of protecting the health and well-being of dining patrons.” Continue reading→

Learn how to garden at upcoming Santa Ana Community Garden Work Day events

The Santa Ana Community Garden Program is hosting a series of Garden Work Day events. They could use help in the process of transitioning their larger community gardens from summer to fall!

Any and all residents interested in learning about seasonal crop rotation are invited to participate and learn from their staff and each other. Gardening activities include clearing out seasonal plants, turning existing compost, adding fresh compost, collecting seeds, planting seeds and transplanting seedlings.

The City of Santa Ana’s 40th annual Fiestas Patrias Festival will take place on Saturday, September 15 and Sunday, September 16, 2018. The festivities begin at 12:00 p.m. each day on Flower Street between Santa Ana Blvd. and Civic Center Dr. This annual tradition celebrates Santa Ana’s vibrant Mexican culture with A-list performers each night, delicious food, affordable shopping, interactive activities, and exciting carnival rides for children of all ages.
