Santa Ana Resident Supports Autism Speaks and Walks for her Four Children with Autism

Roben Head will walk in honor of her four adopted autistic children at Orange County Walk Now for Autism’s new location: Irvine’s Great Park.

IRVINE, Calif. – Santa Ana resident, Roben Head embraces the challenges and triumphs of raising not one, but four adopted children diagnosed with autism. Evan, 15, Taylor, 13, Nathan, 13 and Jordon, 11 were all diagnosed around the age of three. At age 53, Head navigates through her busy day of schedules by caring for each one in her full time job as stay at home mom.

Head created “Team Evan” last year to walk in honor of her children and all families who face the challenges of living with autism. Continue reading→

DETAILS:

IRVINE, California – (September 21, 2013) – On Friday, September 20, at approximately 4:00 p.m. inmate Max Edward Fernandez (DOB: 8-27-1986) was confirmed missing during a security check at the James A. Musick Facility.

The investigation is ongoing as to how Fernandez escaped the facility. Fernandez was in custody for possession of stolen property and a narcotics violation. He has a criminal history of thefts, burglaries, narcotic violations, auto theft and resisting arrest.

Suspect in 1992 Homicide Extradited to Orange County

SANTA ANA, California – (July 24, 2013) – Leonardo Pimentel-Sanchez, a fugitive who eluded law
enforcement for more than 20 years, was returned to Orange County on Tuesday, July 23, from Mexico City
where he had been held since his arrest in Tijuana on November 16, 2012.

Pimentel-Sanchez is a suspect in the murder of Cari Ann Parnes who was discovered deceased in an
orange grove in Irvine on March 26, 1992. Parnes’ cause of death was attributed to a skull fracture due to

NEWPORT BEACH – A female pimp will be arraigned tomorrow for running a high-end brothel and pimping a female victim out of an apartment in Irvine. Mingshu Jin, 41, Irvine, is charged with one felony count each of pimping and pandering. She faces a maximum sentence of six years in state prison if convicted. The defendant is out of custody on $35,000 bail. Jin is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow, Friday, July 19, 2013, at 8:30 a.m. in Department H-2, Harbor Justice Center, Newport Beach. Irvine woman accused of trying to run down an O.C. Airport police officer

An Irvine woman was in police custody Wednesday on an attempted murder charge after allegedly running over an Orange County airport police officer with her SUV, according to CBS News.

Rebecca McLaughlin, 48, allegedly aimed her car at the officer and accelerated, officials said. She slammed into him, knocking him onto the hood of her vehicle, according to NBC News. Continue reading→

*This is the first case of forced labor human trafficking to be prosecuted in Orange County under Prop 35

SANTA ANA – A Saudi Arabian Princess has been charged with human trafficking of a Kenyan woman into the United States and forcing the victim to work as a domestic servant against her will in the first forced labor human trafficking case to be prosecuted in Orange County under California’s Proposition 35 (Prop 35). Meshael Alayban, 42, is charged with one felony count of human trafficking and faces a maximum sentence of 12 years if convicted. Based on the fact that the defendant poses a serious flight risk, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office requested Alayban be held without bail at a bail hearing today. Based on the law, the court set bail at $5 million and ordered terms for the defendant if she posts bail including the surrender of her passport, no travel outside of Orange County without approval from the court, and a GPS tracking device be worn at all times. An immigration officer who worked in Santa Ana has been indicted on charges that she took bribes in cash and egg rolls from immigrants seeking citizenship and green cards, according to CBS News.

Federal prosecutors say 47-year-old Mai Nhu Nguyen, an Irvine resident who worked in the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office in Santa Ana, was indicted Wednesday on three counts of solicitation of a bribe by a public official, according to Fox News. Continue reading→
