A Long Beach man was convicted of stabbing a man to death at a Santa Ana gas station

Logan James Cunningham, 29, a Long Beach man who got into a fistfight with another man who angered him by stepping over his laptop, then pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim, 40-year-old Jason Paul Torres of Costa Mesa, was convicted Wednesday of second-degree murder, according to the O.C. Register.

Cunningham and Torres were partying with other friends at a Santa Ana motel when Cunningham told everyone not to step over his computer laptop. At that point Torres did exactly that, according to the prosecutor. Continue reading→

The SAPD pursued a domestic violence suspect all the way to Long Beach this morning

It was a wild morning in Santa Ana as police pursued a suspect all the way to Long Beach, according to the O.C. Register.

The incident began late this morning near near West First and North Figueroa Streets in Santa Ana. SAPD police officers tried to pull over the suspect but he sped off in his car instead. Continue reading→

Suspect in Circle K stabbing-murder arrested in Long Beach

Advisory: SAPD – August 7th, 2016 Homicide Suspect Taken Into Custody By Long Beach PD

Victim/Deceased: Jason Paul Torres (40) Costa Mesa

Suspect: Logan James Cunningham (27) Long Beach

Charge: PC 187(a) – Homicide, Bail: $1,000,000
Details: On Sunday, August 7, 2016, at 9:07 pm, SAPD Officers responded to a report of a stabbing near the Circle K convenience store at 710 East Dyer Road. The officers found an adult male stabbing victim and a nearby crime scene. The victim later identified as Jason Paul Torres was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The SAPD Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and took over the investigation. During their investigation, Detectives identified Logan James Cunningham (27) as the suspect in this homicide. Continue reading→
