OC Fair Express Kicks Off Tomorrow From Nine Locations

Riders of the bus service will receive a coupon for $3 admission to the fair

ORANGE – The Orange County Transportation Authority is bringing back the OC Fair Express bus service with locations across the county for just $2 each way, allowing riders to save time and money.

The OC Fair Express will provide non-stop weekend bus service from nine locations to the OC Fair from July 12 to Aug. 11. Buses will run hourly between approximately 2:30 p.m. and midnight on Fridays and 9:30 a.m. and midnight on Saturdays and Sundays. Half hour service will be provided at the Fullerton Park and Ride, Santa Ana Depot and Goldenwest Transportation Center. Continue reading→

OCTA Funding New Transit Services In Orange County

Measure M2 providing $9.8 million for six new projects that will expand the reach of transit service

ORANGE – The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) today approved $9.8 million to fund six new services that will expand the reach of transit for Orange County residents.

Residents can sign the pledge and be part of the pollution solution

ORANGE – The Orange County Transportation Authority is encouraging people to Dump the Pump from June 17-21 by leaving their car at home and commuting using other forms of transportation.

Bravo! Bus Speeds Up Harbor Boulevard Commute

OCTA launches limited-stop service June 10 and offers free rides Monday through Wednesday

ORANGE – Bravo! Route 543 – the new limited-stop bus service along Harbor Boulevard – will begin operating Monday, June 10, giving commuters an opportunity to make it to their destination more quickly.

The Orange County Transportation Authority service will have distinct blue and orange buses with Bravo! branding. The service will run 12 miles along Harbor Boulevard stretching from the Fullerton Transportation Center, through Anaheim, Garden Grove, Santa Ana and ending at MacArthur Boulevard in Costa Mesa. Nobody likes fighting freeway traffic. Take Metrolink to the rivalry game, instead, for only $7 round trip—including riding the Dodger Stadium Express shuttle to Dodger Stadium and back. That’s cheaper than paying for parking. Metrolink will offer special train service from Oceanside to L.A. Union Station for the May 27 and 28 Angels versus Dodgers baseball games at Dodger Stadium.

OCTA Leads Pension Reform Efforts

Employees will pay full share of pension costs resulting in $85 million savings over 20 years

ORANGE – Employees of the Orange County Transportation Authority will pay their full share of pension costs under a proactive plan approved today by the agency’s board of directors.

OCTA has been paying an average of 8 percent for each administrative employee’s share of their pension costs. OCTA’s 1,100 union-represented coach operators, maintenance workers, facilities technicians and parts clerks already contributed 100 percent of the employee share. Continue reading→
