The Orange County Vector Control District will be backpack spraying chemicals in Santa Ana again this Tuesday, August 21 and Wednesday, August 22, 2018, from approximately 4:15 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., at 21st and the Alona Catch Basins.

The Orange County Vector Control District is now saying that they did not conduct any aerial spraying of any chemicals in Santa Ana and surrounding cities yesterday. Well we never said they did! We pointed to their own Facebook page and website where they admitted to backpack spraying.

Munoz was last seen at his residence on 7/25/2018 by his caretaker. He suffers from Schizophrenia, is bipolar and takes daily medication for them. Munoz has not taken his medication since the day he went missing. He is known to frequent the 7-11 on Fairhaven and Grand Ave in Santa Ana. Munoz has been reported missing in the past and has a history of frequenting the following areas: Garden Grove Blvd and Euclid St (near commercial storefronts), Hart Park (city of Orange) and the Ralphs grocery store on Main Street and Chapman Avenue (Orange). On July 31, 2018, at approximately 9:15 am, missing person David James Wood was last seen leaving his residence driving his vehicle (description stated above) to a medical appointment at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Medical officials later advised that he never made it to his appointment. Wood is believed to have his wallet, driver’s license and cash with him. He does not have a cell phone on him and is experiencing the onset of Dementia. He can communicate his name, address and other pertinent general information. Continue reading

SAPD police officers responding to a report of a teen boy who had been injured by fireworks on the 4th of July were attacked by a group of thugs with bottle rockets late Wednesday night in Santa Ana, according to CBS News.
SAPD police officers responded to the scene which was an apartment building at the 700 block of South Lyon Street at about 11 p.m. when they were called to assist OCFA firefighters on a call regarding a 17-year-old boy who had been hurt when an explosive device blew up in his hand, according to the SAPD. In the last two weeks, the Costa Mesa Police Department has seized 1,300 pounds of illegal fireworks. The City of Costa Mesa is a zero-tolerance city. Selling illegal fireworks is a felony, and possession/use of illegal fireworks is a misdemeanor punishable by up to $1000 fine and/or jail time.
Selling illegal fireworks in Santa Ana also can result in a minimum fine of $1,000 and even up to one year in jail. However will the SAPD actually get serious about illegal fireworks this year? Continue reading
An unidentified man has been hospitalized after he was hit by two cars while crossing a Santa Ana street Thursday, June 28, according to the O.C. Register.
The victim was crossing she street at the 1300 block of West First St., just west of S. Bristol Street, at around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday night when he was hit by one car and then by another car. Both drivers sped off and did not check on the man or call the police, according to the SAPD. Continue reading

Advisory: SAPD Investigating a Pedestrian vs. Vehicle (Fatal) Collision
On Thursday, May 31, 2018 at approximately 10:25 p.m., our officers responded to the area of the 1200 block of South Bristol St. in regards to a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision with the pedestrian reported to still be down in the roadway. OCFA responded and briefly treated the pedestrian at the scene before he was transported by CARE Ambulance to the UCI Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.
From physical evidence and the statement of the involved party, the pedestrian was crossing Bristol outside of crosswalk when he was struck by the vehicle which was headed north from Wilshire Avenue. The driver of the vehicle remained at the collision scene and cooperated with the investigation. The driver is believed to not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the collision. The pedestrian’s sobriety will be determined through a forensic toxicology analysis completed by the Orange County Coroner’s Office as part of the autopsy. Continue reading
