DTSA’s 4th Street Market cochino eateries keep racking up health violations
The hipster 4th Street Market, an upscale food court in DTSA, recently announced that some of their tenants would be leaving and a few new ones are on the way.
However we took a look today at the recent health inspections, by the OC Environmental Health agency of the eateries at the 4th Street Market and the results are no bueno.
Take for example Wagyu Chuck, a burger joint that is the brainchild of Playground Chef Jason Quinn. The OC Weekly says that their burgers “that taste a lot like In-N-Outs but with a denser bun.” But take a look at what happened when they were visited by the O.C. Health Agency on November 13, 2015: Continue reading

The Santa Ana City Council is considering banning all fireworks next year
The Santa Ana City Council doesn’t seem to be doing much about the gang violence in our city but they are pondering making safe and sane fireworks illegal, according to the O.C Register.
I really don’t understand this. The problem in Santa Ana is NOT the safe and sane fireworks but rather the illegal ones that the SAPD and the OC Fire Authority seem to ignore. Continue reading
Worldwide travel alert issued by the U.S. State Department
LAST UPDATED: NOVEMBER 23, 2015
The State Department alerts U.S. citizens to possible risks of travel due to increased terrorist threats. Current information suggests that ISIL (aka Da’esh), al-Qa’ida, Boko Haram, and other terrorist groups continue to plan terrorist attacks in multiple regions. These attacks may employ a wide variety of tactics, using conventional and non-conventional weapons and targeting both official and private interests. This Travel Alert expires on February 24, 2016.
Authorities believe the likelihood of terror attacks will continue as members of ISIL/Da’esh return from Syria and Iraq. Additionally, there is a continuing threat from unaffiliated persons planning attacks inspired by major terrorist organizations but conducted on an individual basis. Extremists have targeted large sporting events, theatres, open markets, and aviation services. In the past year, there have been multiple attacks in France, Nigeria, Denmark, Turkey, and Mali. ISIL/Da’esh has claimed responsibility for the bombing of a Russian airliner in Egypt. Continue reading

Santa Ana’s police officers have lost confidence in Chief Carlos Rojas
Santa Ana’s police officers have had enough of their Police Chief, Carlos Rojas. They requested a vote of no confidence during the Oct. 8 meeting of the city’s police officers association, according to the Voice of OC.
Rojas claims to not know why his police officers are upset – which underscores how out of touch he is.
One of the big reasons the local police officers are unhappy is the chronic understaffing at the SAPD. The Voice of OC also reports that the officers “are also upset over what they call overzealous attempts at holding them accountable for misconduct.” Continue reading

Normally, the procedure would not leave a smell; however, due to the low cloud cover this morning, the gas is unable to pass through. We have been assured that there is no immediate danger or need to evacuate students. Continue reading
