The festivities continue for Konsept as they celebrate their two year anniversary on December 7, 2013 in their first Art and Music Festival. The event will take place in the Plaza Santa Ana found on 305 E 4th Street, Santa Ana, CA 92701 from 2pm-10pm.
With admission free of charge, curious wanderers of all ages may enter the festival to feel a sense of what Downtown Santa Ana Artist Village is all about and to see why Konsept was awarded the 2013 Best Art Collective in Orange County by OC Weekly. O.C. Clerk-Recorder’s offices open on Saturdays, today and on 12/14

After the Board of Supervisors appointed Hugh Nguyen as Orange County Clerk-Recorder in April, Nguyen implemented a series of changes ranging from fiscal accountability reforms to stronger personnel oversight. Part of the changes include better customer service for the people of Orange County. The Clerk-Recorder’s office is now open one Saturday a month to accommodate Orange County residents.
“I am so proud that over the past several months, our new Clerk-Recorder has acted swiftly to produce not only responsible government, but also responsive government,” Supervisor Todd Spitzer said. “These special Saturday openings allow working families to get the critical documents they need.” Continue reading

THE EVENT: Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) is bringing the rhythm of feet and the sound of drums to Segerstrom High School Wednesday, Nov. 20. SAUSD will host its Annual Marching Band Showcase starting at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

SAUSD AND CITY CELEBRATE GARFIELD COMMUNITY CENTER OPENING WITH RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY
SANTA ANA, CA (November, 15, 2013) – An innovate approach to provide a new Community Center to students and area residents will have its ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at James A. Garfield Elementary School, located at 850 Brown Street in Santa Ana.
A 2-story, 10,000 square foot Community Center has been built in order to be jointly operated between the Santa Ana Unified School District and the City of Santa Ana. This partnership will add much needed benefits to both the students and families from the surrounding neighborhoods. The concept for this project was made by a coalition of residents that identified a need for a local community center. Continue reading

Wrong way collision kills one, hurts three, at McFadden and Mohawk Drive
On Saturday, November 16th, 2013 at 1:48 am, patrol officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of McFadden Avenue and Mohawk Drive. The officers located one vehicle that had three trapped/injured occupants and requested the assistance of OCFA and Medics. The vehicles involved were a ’89 silver Nissan Sentra and a ’06 black Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pickup truck. Firefighters were required to utilize heavy equipment to extricate the three male adult occupants. Continue reading
Exclusive – Mayor Pulido responds to latest unfair VOC slam on him
The Voice of OC is reporting that Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido voted for a $1.35-million no-bid city contract with a local auto parts firm just over a year after he and members of his family purchased a home from the store owner for $230,000 less than its fair market value.

WHO: Emmanuel Hugo Hernandez, 26, Orange
WHAT: Will be arraigned today on one felony count each of child abuse and battery causing serious bodily injury. The defendant is accused of being a walk-on wrestling coach at Villa Park High School and putting a 17-year-old student in a wrestling choke hold, causing the victim to go unconscious. Hernandez is accused of punching the unconscious victim twice in the side of the head and then fleeing the scene. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of six years in state prison. NEWPORT BEACH – A doctor is scheduled to be arraigned Monday for killing two men in a high-speed crash while driving into oncoming traffic on the highway. Robert McFarland Pettis, 48, Laguna Beach, is charged with two felony counts of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, one felony count of driving the wrong way on a divided highway causing death, and sentencing enhancements for inflicting great bodily harm. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of nine years and eight months in state prison. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at 8:30 a.m. in Department H-1, Harbor Justice Center, Newport Beach. Continue reading

Ms. Igalle has the mental capacity of a 4-year-old child. She does not speak English and speaks very little of her native language.
