SANTA ANA – A man faces trial tomorrow for sexually assaulting six females, including raping a 14-year-old and 17-year-old girl, after giving them alcohol. Max Danilo Martinez, 33, Corona, is charged with four felony counts of forcible rape, two felony counts of sexual penetration by foreign object by force, one felony count of oral copulation by force, one felony count of rape of an unconscious person, and sentencing enhancement allegations for sexual crimes against multiple victims. If convicted, Martinez faces a maximum sentence of 113 years to life in state prison. SANTA ANA – A man was convicted today of kidnapping a victim by posing as a police officer and soliciting sex with the victim’s wife in exchange for the victim’s freedom. Tariq Ibrahim Musa, 33, Santa Ana, was found guilty today, July 9, 2013, by a jury of one felony count of kidnapping to commit a sex offense, and one felony count of kidnapping for extortion. Results of Independence Day Weekend Enforcement Operations
DUI arrests up from last year’s totals
SANTA ANA, CA (July 9, 2013) – The Independence Day Holiday anti-DUI enforcement operations has resulted in an increase in DUI arrests from local routine traffic enforcement and special ‘Avoid the 38’ DUIdeployments in Orange County.
From 12:01 a.m., Wednesday July 3, 2013 through midnight Sunday 7, 2013 officers representing 38 Orange County law enforcement agencies have arrested 247 individuals for driving under the influence of alcoholand/or drugs. Santa Ana Councilman David Benavides is apparently pushing for a modification to the City of Santa Ana’s Proposed Alcohol and Entertainment Ordinance that I can at best call irresponsible and ridiculous. Click here to read what Benavides is proposing.
Benavides wants to allow after-hours alcohol sales up to 4 am. Currently bars in town have to close up at 2 am at the latest.

The event will feature a cabaret performance by talent from Theatre Out and radio hosts Benjamin Viele and Alexander Rodriguez, who will talk about their Drive-a-Thon film “The Journey Home.” Bistro 400 is located at 400 W. 4th St., in Downtown Santa Ana. They are donating 20% of their bar sales to the cause!
