It was a wild morning in Santa Ana as police pursued a suspect all the way to Long Beach, according to the O.C. Register.

Westminster police are looking for an overweight vaper who was caught on surveillance video at the scene where Treeanna Nichols, 22-year-old woman from Pasadena, was murdered on Feb. 5.
The suspect is seen in the video walking up the stairs of the Quality Inn on Westminster Boulevard at about 3 p.m. Feb. 5, while wearing a hooded sweatshirt and vaping. He leaves a short time later. Nichols was killed, according to police investigators, during that time period. Continue reading

John Motesharrei, a 40-year-old Westminster man, pleaded guilty on his birthday Tuesday to a hit-and-run collision that killed Juan Ramirez Garcia, a 48-year-old Santa Ana man who was jogging in Fountain Valley, according to the O.C. Register.

On Thursday, Minh Quang Tran, 40, of Santa Ana was charged with murder and assault with a firearm after he allegedly shot up the Club Bleu Restaurant & Dancing venue in Westminster on Saturday, Oct. 28, leaving one person dead and another injured, according to the O.C. Register.

On Sunday, October 15, 2017, at 1:50 pm, Sheriff’s dispatch received a call from a park ranger at the Joshua Tree National Park regarding two deceased persons located inside the park. Deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station were flown to the area as it was not accessible by vehicle, and was described as a steep canyon to the far north of the Maze Loop Trailhead.
Due to suspicious circumstances and visible injuries to the decedents, detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail were requested to respond to the location. Due to loss of daylight, additional investigation and the recovery of the bodies was postponed until Monday, October 16th. Continue reading
Fatal Traffic Collision and Officer Involved Shooting
On 10/13/2017 at 11:34 PM, Fountain Valley Police Officers responded to a fatal traffic collision at Magnolia and Mint. While investigating the fatal collision at 5:16 AM, a suspect driving a black Dodge pick-up truck drove at officers and through the fatal traffic collision scene. The suspect turned around and drove at officers a second time, and an officer involved shooting occurred.
The suspect fled the area and was stopped by officers at Bushard, south of Edinger, where he was arrested. No officers were injured and the male suspect was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Continue reading

Aleksandar Apostolovic, 29, of Santa Ana, a convicted felon who fled from police in an SUV and then crashed into another vehicle, killing a 12-year-old Westminster girl, has been sentenced to 23 years to life in prison, according to the O.C. Register.

NEPHEW CONVICTED OF SHOOTING-MURDER OF UNCLE AFTER ARGUMENT AT BIRTHDAY PARTY
SANTA ANA, Calif. – A nephew was convicted yesterday of shooting and murdering his uncle after an argument at a birthday party. Daniel Lee Duvall, 39, Westminster, was found guilty by a jury on Feb. 23, 2017, of one felony count of first degree murder, and a sentencing enhancement for personal discharge of a firearm causing death was found true. Duvall faces a maximum sentence of 80 years to life in state prison. The court will hear a bifurcated trial on Duvall’s prior felony conviction for transportation of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a felon for the benefit of a criminal street gang in 2002 at his sentencing on April 14, 2017, at 8:30 a.m. in Department C-38, Central Justice Center, Santa Ana. A 22-year-old Pablo Eduardo Nava Diaz of Santa Ana, a 7-Eleven cashier, was arrested on Sunday after a woman said he videotaped her while she used the store’s bathroom, according to the O.C. Register.
The woman called the Westminster police at about 7:40 p.m. on Sunday night from the 7-11 store at Newland Street and Westminster Ave. The woman said that a store clerk had used a cell phone to record her while she was using the store’s bathroom. Continue reading
