Have Fun and Stay Healthy At the Same Time
Dancing is good for what ails you. It’s been proven again and again that dancing benefits the body—by increasing lung capacity, toning muscles, aiding in the prevention of osteoporosis and improving memory. Dancing reduces stress and increases levels of serotonin, giving us a better sense of well-being. Dancing also burns off calories at the rate of 450 calories per hour.
The Southern California Round Dance Teachers Association, a nonprofit organization, invites anyone interested to attend an afternoon of free dance lessons to learn a few simple steps of cha cha and waltz. There is no pressure to sign up for any classes. Attendees will experience the health benefits of dance and won’t ever have to disappear into a corner when dance music starts at a party or special event. The association promises to make everyone feel at ease and to experience what dancing can do to improve your enjoyment of life.
Where: Cedarbrook Dance Center, 12812 Garden Grove Blvd., Garden Grove CA
When: January 20, 2013, 1 PM – 3 PM
How: Those interested will learn basic cha cha and waltz steps and will have the opportunity to take additional classes if interested.
