A Santa Ana gang member was shot in the leg Thursday at 5:15 p.m. at McFadden Ave. and South Toland St., according to the O.C. Register.
The victim was walking by himself when three or four gang members got out of a car to confront him. After exchanging a few words the suspects all pulled out handguns and fired several shots at the victim.
The victim was hit in his upper right leg and taken to a hospital. He is expected to survive.
As you might expect the victim has refused to talk to SAPD investigators.
Witnesses gave information to the police which helped them to locate and stop a vehicle about 1 and a half miles away from the shooting at the 700 block of North Figueroa St.
Polce arrested one suspect who was in the car after they took him to the scene of the shooting. Witnesses identified the suspect as one of the gang members who participated in the attack.
The other suspects are still at large.
The shooting happened a few blocks from Fitz Intermediate School and Heritage Elementary School, in Santa Ana’s Ward 6, which is represented by Councilman Sal Tinajero.
