CALIFORNIA LULAC CONVENES ITS 2010 ANNUAL CONVENTION
New state executive board elected
ORANGE COUNTY, CA: The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), State of California, held its 63rd Annual State Convention in the City or Orange during the period May 21-23, 2010. The purpose of the convention was to conduct official California LULAC business, approve important resolutions and elect a new State Board to lead the organization from June 2010 to May 2011. The assembly also selected the Man, Woman and Council of the Year. The newly elected State Executive Board members are as follows:
State Director: Mr. Benny Diaz (Garden Grove LULAC Council)
Deputy State Director: Mr. Rudy Rodriguez (San Benito LULAC Council)
Deputy State Director for Women: Ms Rebecca Sandoval (Lorenzo Patino LULAC Council)
Deputy State Director for Young Adults: Ms Beth Martinez (Nuestro Pueblo LULAC Council)
Deputy State Director for Youth: Mr. Dan Castanon (Stockton LULAC Council)
Deputy State Director for the Elderly: Mr. Henry Salzer (Long Beach LULAC Council)
State Youth President: Mr. Andres Rodriguez (San Benito LULAC Council)
State Treasurer: Mr. Ricardo Mendoza (Orange County LULAC Council
The California LULAC State Assembly also recognized the following members and councils for its annual awards:
LULAC California Woman of the Year: Ivonne Duncan (Anaheim LULAC Council)
LULAC California Man of the Year: Dr. Tony Nevarez (Duarte LULAC Council)
LULAC COUNCIL OF THE YEAR: (LULAC Premier Women’s Council)
The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) is the oldest and largest Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States. Founded in 1929, LULAC is celebrating its 81st Anniversary. With councils active throughout the Nation and Puerto Rico, the LULAC organization diligently and faithfully works to improve opportunities for Hispanic Americans from every region looking for freedom and an honest way of life. En el condado de Orange, California, del 21 al 23 de mayo de 2010, LULAC-CA, celebró su 63ª Convención Anual LULAC –CA . El propósito fue:
1. Elegir un nuevo Concejo Ejecutivo de LULAC, California para el periodo de junio 2010 a mayo 2011. El mismo quedó designado así:
Director Estatal, Sr. Benny Díaz (Concilio de Garden Grove LULAC)
Sub-Director, Sr. Rudy Rodríguez (Concilio San Benito LULAC)
Sub Director para la Mujer, Sra. Rebeca Sandoval (Concilio Lorenzo Patino LULAC)
