CELEBRATE THE YEAR OF THE DOG AT MAINPLACE MALL’S LUNAR NEW YEAR FESTIVAL
Community Invited to Enjoy Free Festivities & Live Entertainment on February 3!
SANTA ANA, California (January 26, 2018) – It’s the year of the dog, and MainPlace Mall is celebrating with a HUGE Lunar New Year Festival on Saturday, February 3 from noon to 3pm! A free event and fun for the whole family, the entire community is invited to join in the festivities including nonstop cultural entertainment, live performances, activities for the kids, giveaways, and tons of photo opportunities with MainPlace’s stunning Lunar New Year décor as the backdrop! Beginning at noon, the first 500 attendees will receive a $2 bill placed in a traditional red envelope, symbolizing good luck, with the first of ten live performances to commence at 12:30 pm. MainPlace Mall has partnered with the Union of Vietnamese Student Associations (UVSA) to celebrate with traditional performances throughout the event! An Orange County-based, youth-oriented organization designed to provide a united voice for Vietnamese American youth, the UVSA puts on the biggest Tet Festival on the West Coast. MainPlace Mall’s Lunar New Year Festival on February 3 gives Orange County a chance to experience an intimate sneak preview of the grand festival at no cost!
“We are excited to welcome the community to our Lunar New Year Festival on Saturday, February 3, as we honor the Vietnamese Lunar New Year traditions and ring in the year of the dog!” said Debbie Porter, Director of Marketing for MainPlace Mall. “We have so many lively, colorful performances planned that we know guests of all ages will enjoy! At MainPlace, it’s our goal to provide unique opportunities to enjoy the center, outside of shopping, and we love celebrating what’s important to our local community!”

- Lunar New Year “Wishing Tree:” MainPlace invites the community to share a wish of good fortune for someone they care about, for their chance to win a $50 gift card to a MainPlace retailer. Wishes may be selected at random to hang on one of the two beautifully decorated wishing trees located in Center Court.
- Tet Festival tickets: USVA will distribute free tickets for children to attend the upcoming Tet Festival taking place on Feb. 16-18 at the OC Fair & Events Center (while supplies last).
- Gift with Purchase: Shoppers who present a $50+ purchase receipt made at any MainPlace Mall retailer will receive a free Lunar New Year plush dog. Purchase must be made on Feb. 3, 2018 by 2:30 pm; while supplies last.
