Costa Mesa Police Department
COSTA MESA, Calif. – The Costa Mesa Police Department (CMPD) collaborated with the Orange County Probation Department (OC Probation) on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, to conduct compliance checks on offenders subject to Post-Release Community Supervision (PRCS), per the State Prison Realignment Assembly Bill 109. These checks were designed to locate and audit the activity of local criminal offenders residing within the City of Costa Mesa, who are under the supervision of OC Probation.
Officers completed 20 residential home checks of offenders, served one gang-related search warrant, and contacted 40 individuals, 16 of which were classified as PRCS/Probation offenders or on formal probation. The compliance checks resulted in four offenders arrested for violations of the conditions of their probation and/or new criminal law violations, and five other individua ls arrested or cited for new criminal violations. Those arrested, with names withheld (in compliance with PC 11075-11081), are:
• Male, 26, Costa Mesa, arrested on Fair Drive for a PRCS violation
• Male, 22, Costa Mesa, arrested on Fair Drive for challenging to fight with gang enhancements and a probation violation
• Female, 19, Garden Grove, arrested at the 700 block of Victoria Street for drug sales and possession of a fake government ID
• Male, 23, Santa Ana, arrested at the 700 block of Victoria Street for drug sales
• Male, 55, Costa Mesa, arrested at the 1900 block of Wallace Avenue for possession of drug paraphernalia and a PRCS violation
• Female, 47, Costa Mesa, arrested at the 1900 block of Wallace Avenue for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of dangerous drugs
• Male, 21, Costa Mesa, arrested at the 2800 block of El Rio Circle for a probation violation
• Male, 25, from Massachusetts visiting Cost a Mesa, arrested at the 2500 block of Newport Boulevard for misdemeanor municipal code violations
• Male, 21, Costa Mesa, arrested at the 2500 block of Newport Boulevard for infractions
