ORANGE COUNTY HISPANIC CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HAS PARTNERED WITH THE STATE EMPLOYMENT TRAINING PANEL TO OFFER FREE BUSINESS, COMPUTER, TECHNOLOGY, AND PROJECT DEVELOPMENT SKILLS TRAINING TO THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
Santa Ana, Calif. –July 8, 2011. The Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce today announced that it has entered into a partnership with the State of California’s Employment Training Panel (ETP) to deliver on-site and e-learning classes in the areas of programming, system/network database design & administration; business development and project management; and Microsoft office suite and Quickbooks skills training to member businesses and their employees. Chamber membership is not required to participate in the training sessions; however, OCHCC members will have priority for high demand training.
The ETP is a statewide business-labor training and economic development program that supports California’s economy by funding training to ensure that employers have the skilled workers that they need to compete globally.
Training will be provided on a variety of topics including:
– Marketing and Sales
– Financial Analysis and Budgeting
– Strategic Planning and Growth
– Business Development and Planning
– Customer Service
– Information Technology Management
– Network Administration
– Database Administration and Development
– Microsoft Office Suite & Quickbooks
“Employers clearly benefit from having a more highly skilled workforce which gives greater productivity and competitiveness and leads indirectly to a more skilled market enabling them to support business growth” said Reuben Franco, acting CEO and member of the Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board.
Information technology classes start this month. The first business skills’ training is scheduled for August 22 with a class on “Project Management for Small Business”. Waiting lists will start forming once a class is filled.

The ETP program promotes a healthy labor market, with emphasis on helping businesses overcome the challenge of out-of-state and international competition. The program is funded by a special employment training tax paid by California employers.
The Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit corporation governed by a Board of Directors. Membership includes small and mid-size businesses, public and private entities and large corporations.
