Santa Ana youth invited to the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition on 10/16

SANTA ANA, CA – The City of Santa Ana’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency’s Youth Sports Program is proud to be a host site for the 2016 Punt, Pass & Kick (PP&K) competition. The PP&K is the official youth skills competition of the National Football League (NFL). This program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to participate; free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in three core football skills.
The competition will take place on Sunday, October 16, 2016 between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at Santa Ana Stadium, located at 602 N. Flower Street, Santa Ana, 92702. Boys and girls ages 6 to 15 are invited to enter the competition. Participants will be divided into five age divisions: 6/7, 8/9, 10/11, 12/13 and 14/15. All necessary equipment will be provided. Ribbon Cutting at Santa Ana’s renovated Dan Young Soccer Complex set for Oct. 15

SANTA ANA, CA – The City of Santa Ana invites you to the Dan Young Soccer Complex (DYSC) Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. to celebrate the newly renovated synthetic soccer fields.
The DYSC Youth Field #4 is the City’s first synthetic turf youth soccer field exclusively dedicated for youth soccer. Due to heavy use, weathering and expiration of the turf service life, the field surface needed to be replaced. The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency (PRCSA) identified funding in fiscal year 2015/16 from Park Acquisition and Development Funds, Park In-Lieu Funds, Strategic Plan Funds and Budget Surplus Funds to replace the synthetic turf on Field #4. Similar funding was identified the following year in fiscal year 2016/17 to also replace the synthetic turf on Adult Field #2. The project included the removal and disposal of the existing synthetic turf, inspection of the existing drainage system, and preparation and installation of the new synthetic turf. Continue reading

SANTA ANA, Calif – “Today, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office filed a 21-page civil complaint alleging unlawful and unfair business practices against DV Biologics, LLC, DaVinci Biosciences, LLC, Andres Isaias, and Estefano Isaias.
DaVinci Biosciences is jointly owned and operated by Andres Isaias, Luis Isaias and Estefano Isaias. Two of the three owners, Andres Isaias and Luis Isaias, also own and manage DV Biologics. The two companies share the same office space, employees, and management. There is no separate accounting of the financials of the two companies, located in Yorba Linda, and the accounting of revenue and expenses for both companies is 100 percent commingled. The Franchise Tax Board forfeited DaVinci and DV Biologics’ powers, rights, and privileges in July 2015 and November 2014, respectively. Continue reading

SANTA ANA, Calif. – An Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) deputy was sentenced to three years of informal probation today for unauthorized access of a law enforcement database to view criminal histories. Angel Lora Guerrero, 57, Santa Ana, pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of receiving unauthorized privileged information. He was also ordered to complete 80 hours of community service and donate $500 to the Victim Witness Emergency Fund.
At the time of the crimes, Guerrero was employed as an OCSD deputy for approximately 16 years. Continue reading

The City of Santa Ana is pleased to announce that the County of Orange has recently opened the ‘Courtyard’ a temporary transitional shelter for homeless individuals in the Civic Center. The Courtyard is located in the former Santa Ana Transit Terminal next to the Civic Center.
