LAPD OFFICER TO FACE TRIAL FOR ATTEMPTED LEWD ACT WITH 12-YEAR-OLD GIRL AND INDECENT EXPOSURE TO FIVE FEMALE VICTIMS

SANTA ANA, Calif. – A Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer is scheduled to face trial tomorrow on charges of attempting to commit a lewd act with a 12-year-old girl and indecent exposure to five female victims in Huntington Beach. Ryan Eric Galliher, 33, Huntington Beach, is charged with one felony count of attempted lewd act upon a child under 14 years old, one felony count of contacting a minor with the intent to commit a lewd act, six misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure, and one misdemeanor count of engaging in lewd conduct. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of four years in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration. Opening statements are scheduled to begin tomorrow, Nov. 17, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. in Department C-29, Central Justice Center, Santa Ana. Continue reading→

U.S. Rep. Linda Chavez endorsed former State Legislator Lou Correa’s congressional campaign back in September but it looks like her sister Loretta has other ideas as she showed up today at a major fundraiser in Hollywood for Garden Grove Mayor Bao Nguyen’s congressional campaign.

Apparently Loretta convinced Nguyen to run – and while she has not come out publicly as his supporter it is pretty obvious that she has chosen a side in this race. Continue reading→

The Hope Alive Perfect Harmony Concert is set for November 15, 2015, at 6 pm, at the Bill Medley Auditorium, located at Santa Ana High School, at 520 W. Walnut St., in Santa Ana.

This event supports keeping music in the schools by raising funds for music education in Santa Ana. This benefit concert brings the diversity of our community together for an evening of music exploration around the globe as world-class musicians are paired with aspiring youth artists from diverse backgrounds.

Music students from Willard Intermediate, Santa High School, and the surrounding community will have the rare opportunity to perform on stage in a symphony led and directed by local conductors Ammy Beltran, Reggie Goodjoin, Lesa Terry, Joseph Kaye and Victor De Los Santos. This eclectic mix of conductors and music instructors with varying styles and backgrounds expose the youth artists to a variety of musical genres and cultures that they do not learn in their regular school music programs. The Orange County Board of Supervisors are hosting a Special Meeting regarding the proposed Orange County homeless shelter at the Kraemer site in Anaheim on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at 11 a.m., to consider finalizing purchase of a site at 1000 N. Kraemer Place in Anaheim for use as multi-service facility to serve the homeless.

Firefighters from four agencies put out a fire at an aluminum plant in Santa Ana today

It took fifty five firefighters from the O.C. Fire Authority and the Garden Grove, Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley Fire Departments forty minutes to put out a fire today at Aluminum Precision Products, an aluminum manufacturing business located at the 2600 block of South Susan Street in Santa Ana, according to the OCFA’s Twitter page.

They were called in today at 2 p.m. after a fire was caused by an equipment failure near a forging press machine, according to the O.C. Register. Apparently the machine caught fire and the blaze spread very quickly to the roof, where a sprinkler system was activated. Reportedly an oily residue kept igniting the fire on the ceiling according to the OCFA. Continue reading→

OCTA Honors Veterans in Annual Event

Nearly 10 percent of transportation agency’s workforce is made up of those who served in the military

Advisory: SAPD Detectives Arrest Suspect For Multiple Counts Of Sexual Assault

At approximately 4:30 pm on November 10, 2015, Santa Ana Police Special Crimes Section detectives arrested 33-year-old Barry Moore for multiple counts of sexual assault. Moore’s victims included two minors and one adult. Moore was arrested in Westminster, California without incident.

The case involved Moore and three (3) females between the ages of 14 and 22. Two of the sexual assaults occurred in 2010 and one in 2013. The crimes occurred in Santa Ana and Garden Grove. Continue reading→
