In the year since Los Angeles voters passed Measure B requiring condoms on porn sets, the county has seen a 95% drop off in film production. In 2012, 480 permits for adult films were filed in LA County. In 2013, only 24 such permits have been filed, according to California County News.
Diane Duke, CEO of the Free Speech Coalition (the adult film industry trade group), said the county has lost nearly $500,000 in revenue. In arguing against the condom requirement, she said performers test for HIV every 14 days, and nobody has contracted HIV from filming production in nearly a decade. Continue reading
