THIRTEEN MEN CONVICTED AND SENTENCED FOR ATTEMPTING OR AGREEING TO ENGAGE IN PROSTITUTION
SANTA ANA – Thirteen men were convicted and sentenced for attempting or agreeing to engage in prostitution. Geobani Jonathan Benitez, 24, Tustin; Eufermio Duarte, 36, Santa Ana; Ierusamlema Stevenson Faupusa, 37 Los Alamitos; Jeremy Fields, 38, Costa Mesa; Michael Allen Gomez, 51, Santa Ana; Juan Valdez Heredia, 67, Santa Ana; Noe Hernandez, 35, Santa Ana; and Arnulfo Martinez, 28, Santa Ana; each pleaded guilty in October 2013, to one misdemeanor count of agreeing to engage in prostitution. Jesus Quezada Cisneros, 55, Garden Grove, pleaded guilty Oct. 10, 2013, to one misdemeanor count of loitering with intent to commit prostitution.
Benitez, Cisneros, Duarte, Fields, Faupusa, Gomez, Heredia, Hernandez, and Arnulfo Martinez, were each sentenced to three years informal probation and 10 days in jail with the possibility of CalTrans in lieu of jail, and must submit to AIDS testing and education. Benitez, Cisneros, Duarte, Faupusa, Fields, and Hernandez, were also required to donate to the Victim/Witness Emergency Fund. Continue reading→

The Santa Ana Police Department responded to a report of a woman who was found lying on the street at 1600 W. Edinger last night at around 8 pm, according to an SAPD press release. Upon arrival, the police officers located a woman who had sustained major trauma apparently as a result of either being pushed or jumping from a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Edinger near Raitt Street. Found near the woman was a young female child about 1-2 years old. Continue reading→

Orange County District Attorney (OCDA) Tony Rackauckas has published a letter justifying the fatal shooting of Santa Ana resident Andres Ramirez, on Dec. 10, 2010, by Santa Ana Police officer Frank Gutierrez. Click here to read the OCDA’s letter.
Unfortunately the OCDA posts these letters in graphic format so that we can’t copy and paste the information. What the OCDA determined was that Ramirez, who moved here from North Carolina, was one of several young men who ran when SAPD officers drove by the alley that they were apparently drinking beer in. 57-YEAR-OLD MAN CONVICTED OF ENGAGING IN SEXUAL CONDUCT WITH 14-YEAR-OLD BOY HE MET ON CRAIGSLIST
FULLERTON – A 57-year-old man was convicted today of engaging in illegal sexual conduct with a 14-year-old boy he met on Craigslist. Mark Aime Brosseau, Stanton, was found guilty by a jury of one felony count each of lewd acts upon a child, contacting a child with the intent to commit lewd acts, and meeting a child with the intent to engage in lewd conduct. He faces a maximum sentence of five years and four months in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration at his sentencing Jan. 24, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. in Department N-13, North Justice Center, Fullerton. SANTA ANA – A third striker was convicted today of causing an explosion that started a fire inside his motel room. Thanh Van Quang, 39, Fountain Valley, was found guilty by a jury today of one felony count each of arson of an inhabited property and possession of a flammable material with sentencing enhancements for arson with use of an accelerant. WESMINSTER – A former Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) bus driver is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow for possessing hundreds of graphic images and videos of child pornography. Richard Raoul Contreras, 63, Garden Grove, is charged with one felony count of possession and control of child pornography. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of three years in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration. The defendant is out of custody on $20,000 bail.
