Five suspects arrested for grand theft of autos in Orange County worth over $1M

ORANGE COUNTY AUTO THEFT TASK FORCE ARRESTED FIVE SUSPECTS FOR GRAND THEFT AUTO AND GRAND THEFT AS A RESULT OF AN ONGOING INVESTIGATION

*Total loss exceeds $1 million

SANTA ANA, Calif. – In August 2018, detectives and investigators from the Orange County Auto Theft Task Force (OCATT), along with members of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Border and Southern Division Investigative Services Units (ISU) as well as the California Attorney General’s (CAG) Office, arrested five suspects in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, and San Diego.

Arthur Ray Ammons, 40, Los Angeles; Dwon Lamont McCarthy, 43, Los Angeles; Dunya Elina Wade, 45, Los Angeles; Jedon Jennifer Olivia Nelson, 27, Los Angeles; Gaylord John Pierce, 59, Los Angeles were charged with various crimes including grand theft auto, grand theft, attempted grand theft auto, and receiving stolen property. CMPD TO CONDUCT DUI AND DRIVER’S LICENSE CHECKPOINT

COSTA MESA, Calif. – The Costa Mesa Police Department (CMPD) will be conducting a driving under the influence (DUI) and driver’s license checkpoint on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. within the city limits.

DUI checkpoints like this one are placed in locations based on collision statistics and frequency of DUI arrests, affording the greatest opportunity for achieving drunk and drugged driving deterrence. Locations are chosen with safety considerations for the officers and the public. Drivers caught driving impaired can expect the impact of a DUI arrest to include jail time, fines, fees, DUI classes, license suspensions and other expenses that can exceed $10,000. On Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at approximately 11:04 pm an Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop of a suspicious vehicle in the City of Tustin. A short vehicle pursuit ensued, until it was terminated when the suspect vehicle was lost by the Sheriff’s Deputy as it entered the east side of the City of Santa Ana.

At approximately 11:05 pm the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) received several calls from citizens reporting a traffic collision of a vehicle into a tree in the area of 1600 E. Chestnut Avenue. Continue reading→

A suspect was killed in Santa Ana last night after crashing into a tree during a police pursuit

A pollice pursuit left one person dead and another two injured following a crash after police tried to conduct a routine traffic stop on Tuesday night in the Tustin area, according to the O.C. Register.

The suspects caught the attention of an O.C. Deputy Sheriff’s unit who tried to stop their SUV, described as a White Infiniti, for a code violation. But the driver sped off and the Deputies lost their vehicle after 11 p.m. Continue reading→

A homeless woman fell through the ceiling of a Mexican restaurant in Garden Grove

A person recorded the moment the woman fell through the ceiling tiles of Sabroso! Mexican Grill in Garden Grove Sunday. The restaurant said she asked to use the bathroom and an employee obliged. She went into the bathroom and was there for a long time, causing a line to form. A short while later, she broke through one of the red ceiling tiles and fell to the ground, according to CBS News. Advisory: SAPD Detectives Investigating Homicide 1000 Block West Richland Avenue

On Thursday, September 06, 2018, at 1:18 AM, Santa Ana police officers responded to reports of a shooting with a subject down in the area of W. Richland Avenue and S. Shelton Street. Responding officers discovered a Hispanic male juvenile down in the street at 1000 Block West Richland Avenue.

The male suffered an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body. Orange County Fire Authority paramedics responded to the scene, evaluated the victim, and declared him deceased at 1:28 AM. Continue reading→

Tustin man arrested for allegedly trying to commit a lewd act on a girl at a park restroom

Pedro Frias, 21, of Tustin, was arrested today on suspicion of committing a lewd act on an underage girl at park in Tustin on Wednesday, according to the O.C. Register.

Frias tried to expose himself to the girl but she was able to escape following a “brief struggle,” police said in a statement. Once she was out of the restroom, she ran to her father and he called 911, according to KTLA. Continue reading→

The SAPD arrested a man who allegedly touched children inappropriately at a laundromat

Alan Alberto Flores, 28, was arrested by SAPD police officers today after he allegedly inappropriately touched several girls at a Santa Ana laundromat, according to KTLA News.
