Police arrested identical twin brothers, Jamal Walker and Jamel Walker – identical twin, 42-year-old brothers, of Los Angeles, early on Sunday, Nov. 19, on suspicion of burglarizing a Costa Mesa rare-coin shop and leading police on a car chase and foot pursuit, according to the O.C. Register.
Someone watching a security camera at the burglarized business saw two men break open the front doors and steal property from a shop that sells rare coins, precious metals and sports memorabilia. The shop is located at the 1900 block of Harbor Blvd. Continue reading
Two suspects believed to have burglarized a Costa Mesa business early Sunday were caught after leading police on a brief pursuit, according to the O.C. Register.
The burglary happened at about 7:25 a.m. at the 1900 block of Harbor Boulevard , near the Triangle in Costa Mesa, and the two suspects were seen fleeing in a gold colored GMC with paper license plates, according to the Costa Mesa police department. Continue reading
Daniel Enrique Ramirez
Daniel Enrique Ramirez, 24, of Santa Ana; and Joshua Rudy Ramirez, 21, of Corona, pleaded guilty to gang activity, eluding police and possession of a firearm by a felon, according to the O.C. Register.
Both men were sentenced to eight years in prison after they led the SAPD on a high-speed pursuit that began in Santa Ana and ended when they crashed into an 80-year-old woman’s bedroom in Fountain Valley. Continue reading

SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Orange County District Attorney’s Office (OCDA) will continue to serve as the statewide traffic safety training agency through its acceptance of two grants from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) for a training and Vertical Prosecution Program. OCDA was given $672,500 for the Alcohol and Drug Impaired Driver Vertical Prosecution Program and $594,600 for the California Traffic Safety Resource Program Training Network. OCDA has been working in partnership with OTS on Traffic Safety and driving under the influence of drugs (DUID) prosecutions since 2011. Continue reading
Vision Coin Laundry, a coin-operated laundry, was burglarized at around 12:55 a.m. today, in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.
Police officers responding to an alarm found a smashed window at Vision Coin Laundry, located at 1312 W. First St. However the suspects were gone by the time the police arrived. Continue reading

Alfredo Mendoza Heredia, a 39-year-old man, was charged Tuesday, Nov. 14 with sexually assaulting two girls over a period of several years, starting when they were 6 and 8 years old, after moving into a Santa Ana residence shared by several families, according to the O.C. Register.
Mendoza Heredia, who listed his occupation as a plumber, is currently being held without bail. Continue reading
An unidentified lone male driver who led authorities on a vehicle chase through Santa Ana and drove the wrong way on the 55 Freeway on Saturday, Nov. 11 was taken into custody without incident, according to the O.C. Register.
As often happens in Santa Ana the SAPD tried to pull the suspect over, as he was driving a gold-colored minivan, for a traffic violation that occurred at South Grand and East McFadden Avenues, just before 4:30 p.m., according to the SAPD. And of course the suspect sped off in his vehicle, and the police started a pursuit. Continue reading
The Orange County Social Services Agency (SSA) is warning residents of a text messaging scam targeting CalWORKs, CalFresh, and General Relief clients.
CalWORKs, CalFresh, and General Relief recipients in various California counties have reported receiving a text message prompting them to call a false phone number that purportedly connects them to their respective County Social Services Agency regarding their benefits issued through their EBT cards. When the client calls the scammer’s number from the text message, they are prompted by an automated system that requests the caller to enter their personal information such as their EBT card number, PIN, date of birth, and Social Security Number. Juan Manuel Reyes, 36, who was accused of kidnapping an ex-girlfriend who gave birth to their son during her 11 days of alleged captivity, was convicted on Thursday of leading Costa Mesa police on a wild chase in which he rammed two patrol cars, triggering an officer-involved shooting, according to the O.C. Register.
Reyes was convicted of two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, both felonies, and one count each of felony evading and misdemeanor hit and run. Reyes is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 19. Continue reading
A 25-year-old unidentified man was on life support Wednesday, Nov. 9, after being shot while in a truck, according to the O.C. Register.
Authorities said the incident happened just before 1 a.m. in an alleyway behind apartments at the 800 block of South Townsend Street. After the man had been shot, he hit several parked cars with his truck and then crashed into a power pole, breaking it apart, according to ABC News. Continue reading
Three people were arrested Thursday, Nov. 9, following a high-speed police pursuit that began in Fountain Valley and ended in Huntington Beach, according to the O.C. Register.
