On November 2, 2015, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the victim, a 48 year-old male, was exiting his business and walking to his vehicle in the parking lot of the business complex at 1900 East Warner Avenue when he was shot at by an unknown gunman. Advisory: SAPD Detectives Request Assistance In Identifying Vehicle Burglary Suspects
Synopsis: On 10/21/15 between 7:45 and 08:10am, the victim’s vehicle was burglarized on the 1100 block of W. Stevens in the City of Santa Ana. Stolen items include the victim’s identification card and an Orange County Credit Union checkbook.
At 3:07 p.m., the unknown female (Suspect #1) deposited one of the victim’s checks into a SchoolsFirst FCU ATM (590 N. Euclid St, Anaheim). At 3:52 p.m., another unknown female (Suspect #2) used the victim’s identification card and check to purchase items at Food 4 Less (2140 S. Bristol St., Santa Ana) and is accompanied by an unknown male (Suspect #3). Continue reading
The situation in some parts of Santa Ana is getting so bad that you are not safe even when you are at home. Consider what just happened on Wednesday night. An unidentified 22-year-old man who was shot while he was standing in front of his home, at the 900 block of South Minnie Street, in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.
The incident happened at about 7:20 p.m. The SAPD police officers who responded to the incident found the victim on his porch, with a gunshot to his upper body. Apparently he had been standing on his porch, facing the street, when an unidentified male fired one gunshot from the sidewalk and then fled on foot. Continue reading

MAN CHARGED WITH ILLEGALLY REIMBURSING CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTORS OVER $13,000 TO BE ARRAIGNED
SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Orange County District Attorney’s Office (OCDA) has charged a man with illegally reimbursing contributors for Janet Nguyen’s 2012 Orange County Board of Supervisors election campaign. Son Truong Nguyen, 38, Fountain Valley, is charged with 10 misdemeanor counts of unlawful contribution. If convicted on all counts, the defendant faces a maximum sentence of one year in Orange County jail and a $10,000 fine. Charges were filed Oct. 28, 2015, and an arraignment letter was sent out yesterday for Son Nguyen to appear in court on Nov. 24, 2015, at 8:30 a.m. in Department C-54, Central Justice Center, Santa Ana.
Between Nov. 2, 2011, and Jan. 30, 2012, Son Nguyen is accused of illegally reimbursing campaign contributors for Janet Nguyen’s 2012 Orange County Board of Supervisors election on 10 different occasions. He is accused of reimbursing a total of $13,300. Continue reading
An unidentified man in his late 40s was shot in the stomach today at about 3:35 p.m. near the South Coast Safe Access marijuana dispensary, located at the 1900 block of East Warner Avenue in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.
The wounded man was taken to a local hospital and he is expected to survive. Police do not know how many times the man was shot but reports indicated that multiple shots were fired.
SAPD police officers and an Orange County Sheriff’s Department helicopter were searching for a suspect this afternoon. Continue reading
Jovanni Argueta
A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy, Jovanni Argueta, has been arrested for allegedly meeting a girl online when she was 12 and rendezvousing with her over the next year for sexual acts on and off the campus of her Costa Mesa middle school, according to the O.C. Weekly.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department said it assisted the Costa Mesa Police Department with the arrest of 26-year-old Argueta in Whittier on Wednesday, according to ABC News.
Argueta met the Costa Mesa Middle School girl, who is now 13, last year through an online fantasy computer game site. Argueta reportedly performed sexual acts on the girl, and met her numerous times on and off campus, according to the O.C. Register. Continue reading
An unidentified man was shot through the cheeks while driving his white Lexus SUV on Sunday night, at around 10 p.m., with is wife and child in the vehicle, at the 11200 block of Westminster Blvd., in Garden Grove, in Little Saigon, according to the O.C. Register.
The man was badly wounded and appears to have been the victim of a possible street racing feud, according to Garden Grove Police.
The told the police that he realized he was injured when he heard gunfire and found that he was bleeding from his face. Continue reading
A car thief took a gold 1996 Honda Accord today at around 2:45 p.m., from the Target parking lot at the 3300 block of South Bristol St., according to the O.C. Register.
Ordinarily the thief would have probably gotten away with it but not this time. He took a car that was equipped with a LoJack device.
SAPD police officers were able to track the stolen Accord, by following signals emitted by the car’s LoJack device. The signals led them to a parking lot at the Westfield MainPlace Mall. Continue reading
Jaime Prieto Rocha
Jaime Prieto Rocha, 42, a Santa Ana gangbanger pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter on Friday and agreed to testify against his fellow gang member, 27-year-old Irvin Tellez, in exchange for prosecutors dropping a murder charge, according to the O.C. Register.
Rocha was sentenced in Harbor Court on Friday to 16 years in prison.
Rocha and Tellez left a bloody trail in Santa Ana on Sept. 2, 2013, when Tellez shot one woman and left her with permanent injuries and shot another, who died in the back seat of Rocha’s car. Continue reading

SANTA ANA, Calif. – A man was sentenced today to 19 years and four months in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration for having unlawful sexual intercourse with four underage girls, providing them with drugs and trafficking three of the victims. Daryl Anthony Hicks, 57, Midway City, was found guilty by a jury Oct. 7, 2015, of three felony counts of human trafficking of a minor, four felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse, one felony count of possession of a firearm by a felon, three felony counts of furnishing a controlled substance to a minor, and one misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance.
Circumstances of the Case
Between February 2014 and July 2014, Hicks met 16-year-old Jane Doe 1 and 17-year-old Jane Doe 2 in Santa Ana. Hicks knew the victims were minors and gave them methamphetamine on multiple occasions, paid Jane Doe 2 to undress and took illegal nude photographs of her, and paid the victims for sex on multiple occasions. What did you do for fun on Friday night? Julio Torres, a 30-year-old Santa Ana resident tried to set a 7-Eleven store, at the 2700 block of West McFadden, in Santa Ana, on fire, according to the O.C. Register.
Apparently Torres called the SAPD, when he arrived at the 7-Eleven store, just before 4 p.m., and told the police that there were people trying to kill him.
Torres locked himself into the 7-Eleven store’s manager’s office and refused to come out. The customers and employees ran for safety when the police arrived. Continue reading

On October 26, 2015 at approximately 5:22 am, Fountain Valley Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Mt. Gustin Street and Berg River Circle (which is just west of Centennial Park) in reference to a vehicle burglary in progress by two male suspects.
When Officers arrived on scene, they located one male subject running away from the area. Officers stopped the subject and identified him as Daniel Vasquez, 5/10/96, of Santa Ana. Continue reading

Synopsis: On 10/29/15 at approximately 3:48 am the photographed suspect entered the 7-11 store located at 1203 South Standard, (a block from Kennedy Elementary School), simulated a weapon (possible firearm) at the victim and demanded money in English.
At approximately 6:12 am the same suspect entered the AM/PM Mini Mart located at 1222 East First Street, (near Raymond A. Villa Fundamental Intermediate School) again simulated a weapon and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot. Continue reading
An unidentified man in his 30s was found walking while bleeding from a wound in the neck today at 2:55 p.m., at the 200 block of North Grand Ave., in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.
SAPD police officers found the man after they received a call about him. The victim was taken to the Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana, where he underwent surgery. The man is expected to survive. Continue reading

SANTA ANA, Calif. – A former deputy juvenile correctional officer was sentenced today for child abuse by rubbing the shoes of three minors in urine while the minors were in her care. Tamie Marie Bieker, 38, Santa Ana, pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor counts of child abuse. Bieker was sentenced to four years of informal probation, 30 days of voluntary community service, must complete a one year child abuse program, and was ordered to pay restitution.
At the time of the crimes, Bieker was a deputy juvenile correctional officer at the Juvenile Hall in Orange. The defendant has now formally resigned from her position with the Orange County Probation Department (OCPD).
On July 21, 2014, after 14-year-old John Doe 1 urinated in his room, Bieker rubbed the victim’s shoes in the urine. Continue reading
