MAN SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS IN PRISON FOR PIMPING AND PANDERING WOMAN
SANTA ANA – A man was sentenced today to 10 years in state prison for pimping and pandering a woman in Santa Ana. Damion Henri Soul, 40, Pomona, was convicted by a jury on Dec. 4, 2013, of one felony count of pimping and one felony count of pandering. The sentencing enhancements for two prior strike convictions from 1993 in Los Angeles County for armed robbery, assault with a firearm, and prior prison felony convictions in 1998 for forgery, and possession of a controlled substance in 2003 and 2006 were found true.
In the early morning hours on Sept. 4, 2013, Soul engaged in the distribution of commercial sex. Soul pimped 20-year-old Jane Doe by unlawfully deriving support and maintenance in whole and in part from the earnings and proceeds of the prostitution of the victim. Soul oversaw her as she solicited commercial sex from men in an area known for prostitution in Santa Ana. An undercover Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) officer witnessed Jane Doe getting inside Soul’s car and shortly thereafter, arrested the defendant. Continue reading
