An unidentified 23-year-old woman was apparently stabbed by her estranged husband Thursday after they argued following her filing for divorce, according to the O.C. Register.
SAPD police officers responded at around 3 p.m. on Thursday after the woman showed up at a local hospital with wounds in her stomach. Continue reading

SANTA ANA, Calif. – A famous Hispanic band member has been charged for assaulting his ex-girlfriend outside an apartment complex in Santa Ana. Regulo Cristobal Valentin, 36, Las Vegas, Nevada, is charged with one felony count of assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury and one felony count of false imprisonment by violence. If convicted,
he faces a maximum sentence of four years and eight months in state prison. He is out of custody on $50,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on a later date.
At approximately 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 5, 2015, Valentin is accused of verbally arguing with his ex-girlfriend Jane Doe outside a Santa Ana apartment complex near his car. Several neighbors reported hearing the incident to the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD), who investigated this case with assistance from the U.S. Marshal’s Pacific Southwest Task Force
(U.S. Marshal). SAPD arrived after the initial argument and completed an incident report as no injuries were reported or observed by officers. Continue reading
A Riverside County man named Heriberto Leon accosted his estranged 30-year-old common-law wife today in Santa Ana and tried to kidnap her but was prevented from dragging her off by the woman’s brave little 6-year-old daughter, who called 911 and summoned the SAPD, according to the O.C. Register.
The woman, the little girl and 8-year-old brother were walking to a bus stop after a soccer game at Memorial Park, when Leon drove up in a brown, four-door Chrysler Concorde and took them by surprise.
The woman had been separated from Leon for three years and in 2014 she had gotten sole custody of the children. She also had obtained a restraining order against Leon because he had a history of domestic violence. Continue reading

On 5-27-2015 at approximately 3:00 A.M., Santa Ana PD received a 911 call reference a Domestic Violence that had escalated into a husband stabbing his wife with a large knife. Officers responded to the residence in the 800 block of West 15th Street where they located the victim who had been stabbed multiple times in the upper torso. The victim was transported by OCFA to Western Medical Center in critical but stable condition. Continue reading
An unidentified man was arrested early Wednesday morning after he allegedly stabbed his wife in the chest and face during an argument at around 3 a.m., in their Santa Ana apartment, in the 800 block of East 15th Street, according to the O.C. Register.
The couple’s four children, who range in age from 2 to 17, were inside the apartment during this attack. Their mother was found by SAPD police officers after they responded to the call. She was injured and bloody as she was stabbed multiple times. Continue reading

On March 26, 2015, at approximately 8:45 PM, Santa Ana Police Detectives working in partnership with the U.S. Marshal’s Pacific Southwest Fugitive Task Force, arrested Sergio Joaquin Mendoza, age 25, for kidnapping, domestic violence abuse, and making criminal threats. Mendoza is currently being held at the Orange County Jail. Bail has been set at $100,000.
On March 21, 2015, Mendoza and his girlfriend were living together in a rented room in his grandmother’s house in Santa Ana. That day, Mendoza and the victim had an argument. Mendoza allegedly began assaulting the victim and prevented her from leaving the residence. He continued assaulting her throughout the day and carved his name on the victim’s chest with a razor blade. Continue reading

Barricaded Suspect Arrested for Outstanding Warrant
MISSION VIEJO, Calif. – (October 9, 2014) – On Thursday, October 9, 2014, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jason Nicholas Miller, 33, Mission Viejo, on an outstanding felony arrest warrant for domestic violence, stalking and violation of a court order as well as obstructing/delaying a peace officer resulting from today’s incident.
At approximately 10:00 a.m. this morning, deputies attempted to serve the outstanding arrest warrant on Miller in the driveway of the residence located at 26262 Avenida Calidad. Miller fled on foot and retreated into the residence where he remained barricaded for approximately four hours. Numerous commands and directives were made to Miller in an attempt to gain his compliance and surrender to deputies. Continue reading

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. – (September 2, 2014) – On Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at approximately 12:45 a.m., Orange County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic violence incident at a residence in the 100 block of Fairlane Drive, Laguna Niguel. During the course of the domestic violence investigation, deputies observed numerous weapons, military ordinances and potentially explosive substances. SANTA ANA – A former Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy was sentenced today for repeatedly assaulting a woman, with whom he had a relationship, after she discovered on Christmas Day that he was sexually involved with another woman. Mark Eric Hibner, 44, Anaheim, was found guilty by a jury, Oct. 22, 2013, of two felony counts of domestic battery with corporal injury and three felony counts of criminal threats. The People requested a state prison sentence, but Hibner was sentenced today to one year in jail and five years formal probation.
At the time of the crimes, Hibner was a 22-year deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. He was involved in a romantic relationship with Jane Doe #1 for several years. Continue reading

Wow! There were 28 crimes reported in Santa Ana on Saturday, July 13, 2013, according to our friends at CrimeMapping. The crimes included four DUIs and numerous acts of Domestic Violence. You have to wonder why our City Council has done almost nothing with regard to stopping Domestic Violence and it is dismaying that Councilman David Benavides is trying to keep the bars open until 4 am. What a horrible idea!

The mission of Doctora Ana, Salud, Psicología & Vida is to offer bilingual information via a multimedia experience to enrich, engage and entertain the Latina family with topics of health, lifestyle and wellness.
Casa de la Familia is hosting an open house to showcase the magazine and Nogales will also be working with a very informal focus group. This short meeting will take place on Friday February 18, 2011 from 9:00 to 11:00 at 1650 E. 4th Street, Suite 101, Santa Ana, CA 92701. Casa de la Familia is inviting professionals and influential members of the community. They are going to be serving brunch and all participants will receive a token of appreciation for their time.
A native of Argentina, Dr. Nogales is one of the most well-known and respected Latinas in the United States. Through her private practice, media presence, books, and organizational leadership, she has dedicated herself to ensuring the mental health and success of women, Latinos, and anyone else who struggles with cultural and personal issues, victimization, and inequality.
After immigrating to the United States in 1979, Dr. Nogales completed her doctorate degree in psychology at the United States International University in San Diego. She then went on to open her own private practice in 1982 in both Los Angeles and Orange Counties. As a clinical psychologist and founder of Nogales Psychological Counseling, Inc., she is deeply committed to helping members of the Latino community improve their personal relationships and emotional health, as well as adjust to and thrive in the complex multi-cultural environment in which they live.
Dr. Nogales is the founder and Clinical Director of the nonprofit organization, Casa de la Familia, which she established for victims of crimes such as human trafficking, domestic violence, rape, sexual assault, child sexual, and physical abuse. She currently supervises a clinical staff of forty mental health professionals. This organization has a program called Promotores de Salud Mental, which is dedicated to the outreach and engagement of mental health for the Latino community, and is sponsored by the Orange County Health Care Agency.
