Free flu shots now available every Thursday at the OC Health Care Agency

FREE FLU VACCINATIONS AVAILABLE EVERY THURSDAY

(Santa Ana) – The Health Care Agency is offering a walk-in clinic that will provide free seasonal flu vaccinations to persons 6 months of age and older every Thursday. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting vaccinated each year. “While flu season in Orange County usually peaks at the end of December or beginning of January, it is not unusual to begin seeing influenza cases reported early in the season and it is not too early to get vaccinated,” said Dr. David Nunez, Family Health Medical Director. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the County of Orange are sponsoring free flu shots in Orange County, in the cities of Anaheim, Laguna Niguel, Placentia, Stanton and Westminster on October 19th from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm.

CVS Caremark Donating $6 Million in Free Flu Shots to Direct Relief USA For Uninsured Patients of Community Clinics and Health Centers

More than 400 participating clinics across the country to distribute vouchers redeemable at any CVS/pharmacy or MinuteClinic location for a free flu shot 

Woonsocket, Rhode Island, September 13, 2011: CVS Caremark announced today that it has partnered with Direct Relief USA to offer up to $6 million in free flu shots to community clinic and health center patients who lack health insurance.

More than 400 participating clinics and health centers across the country will identify uninsured individuals from their existing patient populations and provide them with a free flu shot voucher, which is redeemable at any CVS/pharmacy or MinuteClinic location, including UCI Family Health Center (800 N. The Orange County Health Care Agency and the Office of Supervisor Janet Nguyen will be hosting a free flu vaccine clinic at the County Community Service Center on Friday, November 4, 2011, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Limited vaccination will be available on a first come, first served basis.

WHAT: The newly expanded Mobile Multi Service Center will stop in downtown Santa Ana to deliver flu shots to the area’s homeless. The mobile unit is a one-stop service center that acts as a point of entry for homeless individuals and families to receive supportive services from nearly 60 agencies ranging from housing and employment to education and medical services.
