SANTA ANA, Calif. – A gang member was charged today with vandalizing a Santa Ana mural depicting Mexican-American war veterans who served in the U.S. Military. The defendant was also charged with tagging another business in Santa Ana.

Santa Ana Graffiti Paint Out and Community Clean Up Day set for Oct. 7

Come out and help beautify Santa Ana on Saturday, Oct. 7. Santa Ana City Councilman Juan Villegas, who represents Ward 5, and Orange County Supervisor Andrew Do, who represents the First District, are teaming up to host a Graffiti Paint Out and Community Clean up Day on Oct. 7.

Community: Graffiti Paint Out and Beautification Day with Children’s Day/Book Day this Saturday / Día de Eliminación de Grafiti y Embellecimiento

SANTA ANA, CA – Join the City of Santa Ana, Public Works Agency for their Community Graffiti Paint-Out and Beautification Day in conjunction with the Children’s Day / Book Day Celebration event this Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Santa Ana Public Library. This is a combined effort by City-contracted graffiti removal crews and volunteers from the community. Please come to the Children’s Day / Book Day event and check in at the Public Works Booth between 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. We’ll provide the tools, gloves, paint and training. All you need to do is join us to help beautify our community.

A juvenile was shot and injured near Lowell Elementary School this afternoon

At about 3 p.m. this afternoon, January 9, a juvenile male was near a wall in the area of S. Shelton and W. Highland Streets when he was approached by multiple suspects. One of the suspects shot at the victim who sustained a gunshot wound to the upper torso, according to SAPD Case Number 17-814.

Santa Ana gangbanger in his late 50s arrested on suspicion of tagging two walls

Joe Fugencio Mirabel, a 57-year-old man, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of vandalizing two walls with gang graffiti, according to the O.C. Register.

SAPD police responded to the scene at about 10 a.m., after a man was spotted vandalizing a wall at the 1800 block of West First Street with gang graffiti, according to the SAPD. Continue reading→

Arrested taggers suspected in several robberies in Santa Ana and Garden Grove

A group of half-a-dozen losers were arrested today in Garden Grove after police officers spotted a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle connected to a tagging incident on Saturday afternoon, at 3:50 p.m., at the Staples Store on Harbor Blvd., according to the O.C. Register.

The suspects turned out to be wanted in connection with a series of robberies in Santa Ana and in Garden Grove.

The suspects were pulled over and arrested at the 13000 block of Roan Road, in Garden Grove. The suspects included five adults and a juvenile. Continue reading→

Have you noticed that the City of Santa Ana is no longer responding quickly to graffiti?  The situation has worsened in the past few weeks – it is now common to see crossed out graffiti as gangs try to take the upper hand.  The graffiti is also becoming more intricate.

It is completely dismaying to see how much crime happens in our city.  Don’t look to the SAPD for that info. Unlike many other cities in Orange County that provide crime statistics on a regular basis, such as Anaheim, Irvine, Tustin and Fountain Valley, the City of Santa Ana sits on the data.  If it wasn’t for Crimemapping.com we would never know how much crime has increased in Santa Ana. A man was beaten and stabbed on Sunday night after confronting a group of taggers who were defacing a vacant house near Lincoln Avenue and Stinson Street, in Anaheim, according to the L.A. Times.

He was stabbed once in the lower back near South Stinson Street before another man “saw the incident, retrieved a handgun and shot four to five rounds into the air to stop the assault,” police Lt. Eric Trapp said, according to the O.C. Register. Continue reading→

On May 23 at approximately 3 p.m. Fountain Valley police officers responded to a call of graffiti vandalism that had just taken place to the rear of 16111 Harbor Blvd., in Fountain Valley. Three male youths were seen leaving the area on bicycles and had been observed tagging the business with graffiti.

PRESS RELEASE

On January 16, 2015, at 1:06 a.m., a Fountain Valley Police Officer was conducting a patrol check of a suspicious vehicle parked to the rear of GameStop located at 16123 Harbor Blvd. As the officer approached the vehicle he observed two suspects run southbound through the parking lot towards the front of the business. The officer observed fresh graffiti on the block wall adjacent to the area where the suspects were originally located.

The officer was able to locate the suspects in front of the business and detained them for a vandalism investigation. The suspects were identified as Joseph Navarro (20) from Orange and Johnny Martinez (20) from Santa Ana. Continue reading→
