Orange County liberals crashed and burned in primary election

It was not a good night for Orange County’s liberals, who crashed and burned in California’s first Open Primary.

Labor spent hundreds of thousands on Julio Perez‘ campaign for the 69th Assembly District. The result? So far he is in third place – ahead of Santa Ana Council Member Michele Martinez, wjho had 3,316 votes, and wannabe candidate Francisco Barragan, who must have run so as to keep Perez out of last place. Perez has 3,554 votes. Tom Daly is leading that race with over 8,231 votes. A Republican who spent no money, Jose “Joe” Moreno, is in second place with 4,495 votes. Continue reading→

If liberal 69th A.D. candidate Julio Perez is gay, does it really matter?

Apparently one of my readers insinuated that liberal Democrat Julio Perez, who is running for the 69th Assembly District (in last place according to a recent poll) is gay.

I tried to find the comment but could not.  However it appears to have set off Orange Juice bloggers Greg Diamond and Vern Nelson.  Diamond in fact immediately began to threaten me and he said that he would use the courts to force me to give up the IP address of the commenter who apparently insinuated that Perez is gay. Out of district white liberals losing it over Daly’s 69th A.D. poll

Ultra-liberal O.J. blogger Greg Diamond has publicly questioned the results of a poll recently conducted by Tom Daly’s campaign for the 69th Assembly District, in an Orange Juice blog post, and in comments he left over at the OC Political blog.  Diamond was irked by the poll as it revealed that Diamond’s pick in that race, union hack Julio Perez, is the least popular of the five candidates who are running.

The O.C. Register touted Irvine’s safe city ranking but ignored Santa Ana’s

OJ Blogger Greg Diamond ripped Santa Ana’s safe city ranking but was silent about Irvine’s ranking

My colleague, Sean Mill, wrote a post earlier this week regarding the lack of attention paid by the O.C. Register, and in particular by their Santa Ana beat reporter Andrew Galvin, to the recent Forbes ranking of Santa Ana as the “4th Safest City in the U.S.” The Register briefly noted Santa Ana’s ranking in an article about the FBI crime data that was used by Forbes. But we found that the Register wrote an entire article on Dec. 13, touting a similar story, when the City of Irvine was ranked as the Safest City in the U.S. by an obscure entity (as compared to Forbes) – CQ Press.

The Santa Ana ranking was heavily criticized by the Liberal OC’s Chris Prevatt and by Orange Juice blogger Greg Diamond. Neither of them had anything negative to say about Irvine’s ranking, and Prevatt’s colleague, Dan Chmielewski, even wrote an entire post praising Irvine’s ranking. DPOC hacks fail to impeach their whistle blowing Treasurer

Why is DPOC Chairman Frank Barbaro keeping his treasurer in the dark about party finances?

Orange County Democratic Party Treasurer Reggie Mundekis barely survived an impeachment effort Monday night, coming within one vote of being removed from office by the Central Committee.  Mundekis, a controversial party activist, has publicly raised questions about the Democratic Central Committee’s lack of transparency on internal finances. The vote to impeach her was 33-19, just short of the required two-thirds majority, according to the Voice of OC.

Among those trying to censure and impeach Mundekis was Orange Juice blogger, and Occupy lawyer, Greg Diamond.  On the one hand the guy is grousing about banks – and an Occupier, but when Mundekis tried to tell local Democrats the truth about the DPOC’s finances, Diamond had a cow.  How typical. Why did Santa Ana Occupy fail to support affordable housing last night?

Why should Santa Ana Occupy care about affordable housing?  

Their leader is a wealthy lawyer who lives in Brea!

About 40 members of Santa Ana Occupy showed up at Santa Ana’s City Council last night.  Thanks to them the meeting went on until midnight.  In the end the City Council rejected their demand to camp out at night on city property.

That much you know by now – but did you know that the Occupy members also completely failed last night – when they were given an opportunity to help the “99%?”

That’s right.  The City Council finally voted on an ordinance that would force developers to include affordable housing in their residential developments. Continue reading→

Brea blogger Greg Diamond offered a breakdown of the electorate in the redistricted 69th Assembly District today, in a comment he posted here on NSA.  Here is his comment, followed by my own analysis:

Population of AD-69: 465,317.  Population of Santa Ana: 324,528.  So you might think so — but you’d probably be wrong.
